Does changing the names .ytd, .ytf files change the model they modify?

Featured Replies

My question is as clear as i could make it, but basically I would like to use vehicles in other slots then they were downloaded for.

For example, say I have a 2018 charger that is listed as Police2.ytd,  that modifies the  police buffalo slot. Can i change the file name to Police3.ytd and have it modify the interceptor slot? Or send it over to modify noose or sheriff slots?

If so, what are the names for the slots?

Also, I have files that are "sheriff14/sheriff13" but they don't show up, why?

Yes, renaming the files will make them replace a different vehicle. The model file themselves have no idea of their name, if that makes any sense.

As for using names that are not yet in the game, you will need a vehicles.meta entry to add them.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

Yeah I don't know if I want to get that into modding the game just yet. Thank you, for your answer.

I have also found that to get the names of the vehicles currently usable and can us the spawn command in the console and get their file names that way.
