GTA IV Won't load

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I joined this forum tonight after scratching my head for hours, and going through forums trying to get this figured out.

Here's the deal:

I bought a copy of GTA at walmart last night.

I had to install Xliveless to get it to open do to the "FATAL ERROR WS20"

After doing that i could open the game, and run it smoothly.

Then, i updated to the latest version and it's all been down hill.

I can get GTA to open by running "LaunchGTAIV.exe" as admin, but it stops unexpectedly and closes.

There's no Error message that follows.

I ran the Diagnostics program supplied in the forums and turned up 0 errors.

Here is the text that it gives me:

But it still won't play for me.

I'd really love to get to play this, there's gotta be something i can do, right?

Any and all help is appreciated greatly.

EDIT:

I found that when i ran the update (1.0.7.0) for the first time, it never updated correctly.

Now with the updated version it runs and goes into "Duty Mode"

However there is no red circle infront of any of the PD's and i have no vehicle or character selection.

Is there something i need to do?

Do you mean the LCPDFR files?

If so, no.

Once it worked at least part of the way i haven't made any more installations

I re-installed the LCPDFR 095 RC2 R2 application.

Still does nothing but say "Duty Forced"

I can use the LCPD cars to pull over and ticket.

But cannot play as a different character, and have a cruiser.

Also, i acquire a baseball bat.

Strange, but i'm sure this has happened before to someone.

You are hilting the wrong keys, be sure you are hitting ALT + P in order to launch LCPDFR in it's normal fashion, otherwise if you still are getting the Duty Forced feature, there might be a separate issue.
