The latest updated version of RAGE Plugin Hook, required to play LSPDFR, can be found inside the LSPDFR download. It is not currently available on the RAGE Plugin Hook website.

RagePluginHook Not Hooking Game Instance

Featured Replies

I recently wanted to start playing LSPDFR again after about a year and a half break. I had a bunch of old mods and a very old game version so I completely deleted the folder and uninstalled GTA V from steam. I reinstalled GTA V and installed RPH, LSPDFR and a decent amount of plugins but RPH wasn't working and I couldn't get it to work. So I reinstalled again, this time with just RPH and LSPDFR. Still did not work. After another reinstall with just RPH in my GTA V folder, it still will not work. I've seen it work a few times but I can close it, not make a single change, immediately reopen it again and it wont work.

It shows "Hooking Game Instance" for about 5-10 seconds before it says the "slow system or insufficient permissions" and closes. I've tried nearly every fix and reinstalled more times but it still will not work. My GTA V folder is excluded from my anti-virus, the folder is named "Grand Theft Auto V", I've tried forcing windowed mode and using DirectX 11 in the RPH settings, but nothing passes the Hooking Game Instance window.

Also I opened the game with my old files on an older version of GTA 5 and RPH worked fine.

Having the same problem. These are the "solutions" I have tried:

  • Clean install, asi loader, empty mods folder, RPH
  • Existing back-up, asi loader, empty mods folder, RPH
  • Clean install, RPH
  • Existing back-up, RPH
  • Allow everyting for RPH in firewall
  • Fullscreen launch
  • Force windowed mode
  • launch game frome RPH.exe
  • Launch RPH after game launch

The GTAVLauncher.exe keeps nagging that the game should be started from Steam. Don't know if that is giving the problem. On the other hand, this error first occured when Windows10 was updated to version 1903 a few days ago (maybe RPH needs to be updated to work with this Windows version. Just guessing).

I'm not getting an error log from RPH to upload.

EDIT:

Just tried again with elevated privilages, still no luck.

I did notice that in the root game folder, there is a file called 'rphhs'. It's file extension is "bestand" (wich is Dutch for "file") So there are a few questions that popped-up to me:

  1. does this file have anything to do with RPH at all
  2. if yes, can I force the file extension,
  3. if #2 applies, what should that extension be

Hope someone knows something😅

EDIT2:

Added RPH in AntiVirus to the trusted list, still no luck

Also added the Whole GTAV folder as an exclusion to check for the AV. Also nothing

Adding RAGEPluginHook.exe as trusted also didn't work

EDIT3:

Deleted my anti-virus (KasperskyLab) and somehow it works again
