Installation problems

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm thought I would try LCPDFR since it looks really great, but I can't seem to get it installed on my PC. First a bit of background:

- GTA IV is legal DVD version, patched to 1.0.7.0.

- I am running WIndows XP pro 32 bit

- I have installed Windows .Net Framework 4 extended

- I have installed C++

- I have the updated scripthook for 1.0.7.0 (DL from http://dl.megamods.de/83)

When I try to run the auto-installer, the following error appears:

(System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I'm somewhat of a rookie, so i don't really understand what dsound/xliveless is or does, although I have downloaded them and placed them in my GTA IV folder (not both at the same time)

I would appreciate any suggestions and/or solutions. I'm really looking forward to try this mod.

Best,

Marius

Can any of this explain why i can't install the mod?

You don't have asiloaders, or you have both xlive and dsound in there at the same time. Install/remove one.

Ok, so I fixed the asiloader-problem, but LCPDFR still wont install.

The diagnostics says there is a problem with the .NET Scriphook being out of date. Any fixes to this? Or any other things I have to fix to get the mod installed?

You say you downloaded a scripthook from another site, my advice is don't.

Reinstall LCPDFR with the auto-installer and let it install everything it needs too. Should work then. (Or is that where the problem is?)

I tried installing both with and without a separate scripthook in the GTA folder.

I'm thinking the problem has something to do with the .NET Framework or C++ on my computer. Take a look at the attachment to see what error I get when trying to install LCPDFR.

Isn't there anyone who has had this problem before?

Have installed both before, but none of them seem to solve the problem. However, it seems that .NET framework have something to do with it, considering the error I keep getting. (See attachment in previous post)

I would really appreciate if someone could take some time trying to help me with this. Have really been looking forward to try LCPDFR, so it sucks that I can't get it working.

The GTA-copy is a legit DVD-version, purchased from Amazon.

Has anyone had to change any preferences/do anything in .NET/C++ in order to install LCPDFR?

I don't think anyone has. I'm not sure why yours isn't working. Probably best to wait for a dev to see the topic, they may know what's wrong.

Your screenshot says the core assembly of version 3.5 is missing, so I guess you have an older version of windows which doesn't has this installed by default. You can get .NET Framework 3.5 here.
