after installing a new siren a good portion of audio is muted

Featured Replies

I tried to install a new siren mod onto the pack I'm already using.

Ive, changed the ambulance siren, and FBI siren, and police bike siren, for the reason that I didn't like the way they sounded.

I wanted to change out the police siren to this.

however when I hop in game to try it out after installing it the correct way

car door open, car door close, and the siren are all muted but I can hear my character getting in the car seat and the engine start but that's it.

anyone know how to fix this?

Try a different siren pack.  The one you're using might be too big, hence the muting of sounds.  However, in my experience, everything gets muted when this is the case.

I'm trying to reinstall the game now to see if I can start with a clean slate!

ok, apparently there are these sounds on the file that no matter what I do I can get rid of them.  files such as these

I don't know how to get the default sirens back!

Just delete them in OpenIV, or export the sirens to your desktop, delete the ones you don't want, and import it again.

To get the default ones back, just grab them from the vanilla update folder.

I mean, you should've had a "mods" folder, which is like a protective shell.  All your game file changes and car additions should go here.  (Example: mods-->x64)

Vanilla means your actual game files.    (Instead of going through a mods folder first, you go directly to x64)

If you didn't use a mods folder, your only option is to verify integrity of game cache to get vanilla sirens.  Or just download a different one.

I do have a mods folder the whole reason why the vanilla files (ie the sirens) are the way they are is that I wanted to use the same siren pack as I do my mods in five M!

I can't really help with that, as I don't play fivem.
