Rage crash with Traffic Policer after 10-15 mins

Featured Replies

Hi all

I really need help! I have been spending a week or two trying to troubleshoot an issue I am having with Traffic Policer. I don't believe it is an issue with the plugin because many people clearly have it working fine (Youtube videos are proof of that) but I can't seem to play with TP installed for more than about 10-15 mins before Rage crashes my game (not just LSPDFR crash as some have also seen). When I uninstall TP I can play for hours with no issues at all. I have attached the logs for the latest incidents but there are countless other examples. I have started saving all the logs now so I can view them all side by side to look for any similarities but I haven't had any luck with that, I don't know how to read it that well. There also doesn't seem to be any trigger as to when the crash occurs: traffic stop, in a callout, not in a callout, calling for backup, ambient spawn, etc.

The only other plugins I have running are ELS and Speed Radar Lite however I don't think it is related to either of them because TP was the first mod I installed and it was crashing prior.

I have mod vehicles installed (in default slots only) but again I don't think that is related because it was crashing prior to that.

I have tried putting the plugin on about 6 times now and I get the same result, then as soon as I remove it.. no issues. I have also tried re-installing LSPDFR.

Is anyone experiencing something similar? Perhaps someone that is smart enough can detect a clue in the log files? I can provide others if that helps.

It is frustrating because traffic policer is a required mod for a lot of other plugins that I would love to use, and used to use in 0.3 but I don't want to move on to them until I can get this issue sorted otherwise having multiple crash causes will complicate things.

Thank you!

Do you have policesmartradio installed?

Hi, no I don't.

I have done previously - I installed TP and PSR at the same time and then immediately started getting the crashes so I uninstalled both and it was fine, no crashes for hours. So I installed TP on it's own and got crashes again and I never put PSR back on because there isn't much point when TP isn't playing nice.

You really should get PSR, as it is very essential. I have it and it works fine for me. Just make sure to take extra care when installing it. Crashes are bound to happen every so often, and sometimes there is nothing you can do to fix it.

Thanks but you don't need to sell it to me, I desperately want to use it, and traffic policer - hence why I have been spending 2 weeks trying to figure out what is causing the crashes and writing this post in the first place.

What do you mean take extra care to install? It is dragging some files from one folder to another, it's not rocket science. I have done it about 7 times now, taking extra care each time, I can assure you there is nothing wrong with the way I'm installing it.

Crashes are caused by something, they don't just "happen". At the end of every crash there is a root cause. It may not be in my control but there is still a root cause and it can possibly be eliminated. PSR is very good but it's not worth restarting the whole GTA game every 10 minutes for. I can barely get through one callout in that time.

Hello,

I am not trying to sell it to you, just pointing out that it is essential. I know that all crashes have some root cause. As for taking extra care, I have seen some people fuck up an installation before, so I was just exploring every option. May I just ask what other plugins there are in your game, along with callouts.

Thanks!

I agree, traffic policer is also.

I have no callouts loaded at all, only the few default ones that come with LSPDFR.

It is the text file titled: "RagePluginHook".

Yes I know that is what I have attached to the first post. I have just re-named them to the crash number because I was saving and comparing them.

If you have a look at 14.txt and 13.txt in the top post it is the same thing.
