New to gta v and having problems swapping cars and having add on work

I wouldnt say I'm new to lspdfr I played thru gta iv. However I am new to the gta v version. I have run into a few problems which I hope some can assist me. I have downloaded open iv, added rage plugins, script hook 5, lspdfr works great in game. My problem is I have tried to switch vanilla police cars with mods and the game wont register them. The one is registers which is police2, picks it up as a civilian car. I've check patch dates 1-20 and cant find the cars in trying to add. The police cars I did find I switched the models but still wont load. I have also gone into the main directory as you could do in gta iv, and it still registers the vanilla models. My other problem is I have added two add ons, one is a fire EMS package, and the secone is a LsPD mega pack based on LAPD, i have put the files into correct folders, added it in the meta file, open iv registers they are there but gta v wont. I've done the Oiv install but none of my models will spawn. If anyone could maybe give me some pointers or help me.  I can post pictures after work. I have been so excited to play it... than I ran into these problems.  I appreciate any help or support you can give me.

Have you tried Albo's mod? 

 

Its seriously useful, and he has a link to an instructional video too.

So, the easiest way to me is to create them as add-ons. This means using the modding folder from the link I sent you. You can then put in the correct vehicle.meta and car variations.meta files in OpenIV. 

How are you adding them at the moment? Can you see them in OpenIV? 

If you give me the links to the packs I can see if I have the files you'll need or help you get them. Then go through the process of getting them working. 

Its not quick, but it's worth it😁

Lol I would appreciate that. I've had some computer buddies who r super smart try and they have had no luck to. This is the LAPD add on 

ill just have to scroll up to see it and the fire one is no longer on the lspdfr website I wonder if that why it wont work

I had that lspd pack, so I can help you with that one. I might even have all the meta stuff you need. I'll have a look in the morning and try do a step by step guide for you tomorrow.

Awesome only other problem I have is I cant get any new police cars to show up. Like if I go to patchday20 or any other one and replace FBI to the sheriff one gta doesnt register it

And by sheriff I mean its FBI. But it's a sheriff car. Do I need to add the models on patch day 20 is tht why it wont load?

You need to find the meta files for the vehicles, he gives a sample (if I'm not mistaken.)  However, here are the basic ones, you can search for the vehicle that you need and copy that into the 'modding' folder created with Albo's method.  So for example if you want to add a new model called 'sheriffcharger' which uses the slot 'sheriff2', you need to look through the vehicles.txt file I've sent and copy the data from <Item> to </Item> like this:

Then only change <modelName>sheriff2</modelName> and <txdName>sheriff2</txdName> to <modelName>sheriffcharger</modelName> and <txdName>sheriffcharger</txdName>

 

Once you've done that update your meta file in OenIV, then move on to carvariations.meta <modelName>police</modelName>copy and paste from <Item> to </Item> and change <modelName>police</modelName> to <modelName>sheriffcharger</modelName> then update the files in OpenIV again.

Doh! My bad, sorry... That pack seems to have issues, from reading the comments. You'll need a new game on fig and a few other fixes to get it to work. I can send links to these if you like, but it could cause other issues for you.

Yeah I my gta wasnt the Verizon Alba used so I had to do a new config. And no but the meta files dont match wht he showed me

 

Once i learn I'll be ok but it's totally different then gta iv
