Peds Stealing Pulled Over Cars

Featured Replies

Hey all, I've been having an issue where very frequently, a random ped would attempt to drive off the car that I had pulled over.

Basically, after I pull over a suspect and get him / her out, I'd be frisking the suspect or placing the ped in my car. While all this is going on, the suspect's car would be empty. Out of the blue, someone would just run up and get in the car and drive off. It doesn't really break anything but I find it very odd and definitely affects the role play cos a car that a cop just pulled over is being stolen right in front of the cop.

I'm wondering if anyone else is facing this issue?

There is random game event (by GTA V) that makes a ped steal car close to you (usually your car), I suspect it is that. We've turned down the frequency of the event already but plan to entirely remove it from the game soon, as it causes issues like you have described.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

Just to add, I'm not sure if this is what LMS is referring to, but GTA also has a self clean up system.  If cars are blocking the way of other traffic, GTA will send in a random ped to steal the car and traffic moving.

LMS's post could be about something entirely different that I'm not aware of, though.

Ohhhhhh.. I think this could be it. Cos I've noticed this only happens when traffic is blocked and all sorts of honking is going on. But it didn't happen to me before in 0.3 though, so I'm not entirely sure. Thanks for the input!

I can confirm it does happen in 0.3, lol.  I'm still using it and had to install a car lock plugin to make sure my cruiser didn't get taken. 😛

You're welcome.
