Any editing I do in an XML file causes the game to either crash on startup (usually when it gets to the loading screen after I have edited the Agency XML), or an infinite LSPDFR loading screen (after editing the Stations XML). Any suggestions? I've never had an issue in the past with editing XML files, and have read the documentation on editing the new files that were added in 0.4. Any help is much appreciated.

If you edited the original files, you need to copy those files from the lspdfr.4 manual download and replace them, them do it like  this in the custom folder.

 

Can you let me know If you are hearing echos?

 

I just realized you said you didn't have any problems editing xml file, my bad. You may need need to start rage, go into settings, increase the threshold to 30000

I do recommend using the custom folder like explained in the video, that way it will be easier to target a typo 

Well I solved the crashing which was just an error on my part after I did some editing in my mods folder, but I’m still having the issue with an infinite LSPDFR loading screen after editing the stations XML file. I’m basically just changing the La Mesa Police Station to have the SAHP agency instead of LSPD. I am using the customs folder, and have set threshold to 30000 even 60000 and still nothing. Your video was very helpful, but I still must be doing something incorrect. 

Well I explain in the video if you are editing stations in the customs folder it will not work, remove stations from the customs and edit the agency in the default one and you should be good to go, I was having the same issue. The game is trying to load the police station twice when you do stations in custom

If that doesn't help, the forever loading will still produce a log, post it please

Yeah, I took the stations file out of the customs folder. Decided to make my own agency and again changed the agency name for the La Mesa station. It continues to keep loading with no end. I’m stumpt haha. Ill upload the log.

Here is the log from trying just now. LSPDFR crashed as well. I don't have that issue before changing agencies.

I just recreated this problem with stations because I wanted to make a thread about it, even if you did it in customs it wouldn't crash the game, just wouldn't apply the agency. It has to be a typo somewhere, post a screenshot of the agency you made

 

 

Ok you log is saying there is something wrong the stations.xml. Post a screen shot of the stations folder also

Well the game didn’t crash, just LSPDFR itself, though the game never loaded with the LSPDFR being in the constant loading loop, and this was with the custom agency taken out with a fresh install of LSPDFR 0.4.

 

I’ll  take a screen shot of what I’m looking at when I change the agency name in the XML file.

Well its crashing and still pointing to the stations.xml file, are you sure that it pasted in untampered with and there is not one in the customs folder?

Make sure the game will load without editing the xmls

worked for me but had the infinite black screen loading and turned out the backup xml had a line that didnt match the top, just wondering why lssd is still in blaine county

Did you make an agency for blaine county?
