I recently uninstalled my Steam version of GTA V, along with all of its mods to start afresh. However, upon reinstalling the game, LSPDFR and RPH only, the game takes a lot longer to load before fianlly displaying an error message: 'Could not hook game process. Insufficient permissions or bad anti-virus.'

 

Launching GTA V by itself works perfectly but after trying everything suggested by every YouTube video and forum post on the topic, I still have no idea what could be causing this to happen.

 

I apologise if I've missed something simple or this is an easy fix but I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions before I throw in the towel.

When you reinstalled did you remember to put the gameconfig back in?

I haven't installed another gameconfig file, I just have the unedited, vanilla version from the fresh download. Should I install another one?

This worked perfectly but then I exited the game and restarted it, just to double check it was working, and now I'm getting the original error again.

Try restarting steam and then restart your pc.

Again, the same thing happened, this worked perfectly but then I tried to launch the game a second time and am now getting the same error again.

What about disabling your AntiVirus

I just tried this and the game loaded perfectly but during the loading screen, the game crashed.

I tried it again and now the game appears to be working perfectly after several restarts and seems relatively stable.

I've never had any issues with the Antivirus and RPH before so I didn't even think to try this.
