LAPD, LASD and CHP chase stolen Sheriff's Explorer

Featured Replies

Trigger warning: Newscasters are stupid as shit and can't tell the difference between a Tahoe and Explorer.

I'm almost positive this was a recent incident, but could be wrong.  I'd like to know HOW he stole the cruiser.

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

"The pursuit began after deputies responded to a disturbance at the Olive View UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar early Tuesday morning. The deputies arrived to find a man "running around" the area and pursued him. At one point the man jumped into the sheriff's cruiser and took off, said department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida."

I'm half and half.  On one hand, I get it.  Your arrive on scene to find an immediate threat and act on it without doing anything else.  How many times in LSPDFR do we roll up on an emergency and just leave the car running?  On the other hand, in this day and age, you should not leave your cruiser is a state that lets other people get in and do as they want.

Hmm, that is a very small Tahoe.

Officially triggered. (How can you not know the difference between a Ford Explorer, and a Chevy Tahoe?).

Funny, I actually have had an officer lock his keys in his vehicle in front of my home one afternoon.

There was a domestic altercation where some kids (5-8 teens, not really kids) had baseball bats and were kicking an older gentleman out of the home.

I was just arriving home when my neighbor tried to intervene and told them to just put the bats down. It got fairly aggressive.

I was on the phone with 911 when an unmarked civilian version Chevy Malibu pulled into my driveway.

An undercover sheriff's deputy wearing a tac vest came out of his car with his hand on his weapon, he had been down the road.

Not even a minute later, there were 4 additional units on the street as back up.

They went about taking statements and collecting evidence.

Then the plainclothes officer came up to my home and apologized that he had unfortunately locked his keys in his undercover vehicle in the heat of the moment, and I wouldn't be able to get out of my driveway. But, that there was a tow truck on the way to open the car for him.

From that moment, I can now imagine just about anything can happen. From leaving their car unlocked to locking their keys inside.
