Okay so when I start up GTA IV on steam, it works fine until I get to the screen with the characters and the theme song. It is a never ending loop and it keeps going even when the music stops!!! I tried everything: restarting my computer, redownloading it, verifying the files, randomly deleting files in the folder and re-downloading them... Just someone... Help a random stranger out... P.S. I know the game works because I got it to work once, but I downloaded something so I could edit my settings and it didn't let me.

OKAY,OKAY! This happened to me before. I recommend starting from the beginning (re download). Make sure it will start after fresh download, of not, then you might be missing a form of component or something. Then before putting the mods in, remember to put the patch. Then put mods in like RC2, cars etc. etc.. Sometimes, after putting the mod in, it won't start because GFWL needs updating. If all goes well, it should work. THAT IS HW I GOT MINE WORKING. I highly recommend posting the diagnostics from the G17 diagnostics tool, that is your best bet of getting help. There is my 2 cents...

Yes I did get it to work... For 1 minute.. I went to download some more mods and it didn't work any more... (Fixed the swearing in the title. XD sorry... I've been here for two days trying to fix this glitch... gets kinds frustrating)

Oh and my name in the title is something I'm used to doing when I apply for things on other games... I kind of got used to it, that's why.

repair, it will stockafy it to default, but there might be some mod remminants, like scripthooks lcpdfr stuff..the mods you put in manually by drag and drops

I'll just pull the GTA IV files out of the recycle bin so I dont have to wait for it to install, Then I'll test and see if it works

Well... Apparently when you pull GTA IV out of the recycle bin and back into its folder, all the files in it are deleted an I have to wait for an hour or so...

Those two files you showed me are downlaoded though.

What should I do now?

Yes it has the newest video cards and all... Bought this desktop like two months ago.

The computer ran the first mission BTW. Then I went to downlaod this and it stopped working...

try running the Launch gtaiv.exe in the steam app folder as admin, but i think it might be an issue with one particular file that has bee a plague on some people
