Police vehicles not installing properly

Featured Replies

So, I got those LSPD ELS cruisers from here:

And while the ALPR CVPI works fine (unrelated, the ELS pattern is pretty slow, kinda sucks), the Charger and the Taurus keep showing as the default police2 and police3.

Now, everyone repeats the same solution: something with patchday17ng or whatever's the newest. mods>update>x64>dlcpacks, go find it.

There's just one problem:

So basically, I don't actually have those in my mods folder. It never came with it.

If you're wondering where the update.rpf shit came from, I just added it because I thought that was it, and I was told not to fuck around with vanilla.

Oh, by the way, the dlc_patch folder still has patchday17ng, but this is what it looks like:

If it helps, I have the Grand Theft Auto V Steam release. 19 bucks sale, what a steal. Thankfully, this combined with the fact that RPH keeps fucking around with "insufficient permissions" really makes this worth it.

Any help? Or is this gonna be one of those actual questions that gets filled with "i have this problem too, help me pls"?

Modding this game is a unique experience that can't be compared to anything else. You'll have what seems to be the most obscure issue ever that will take hours for someone to reply to, if anyone even replies at all, and the solution will either be so simple you'll never get over it or so strange that you'll accidentally learn the fix and never encounter that problem again. But one thing is certain: it's almost always your fault.

Install to your latest patch day.

No shit, pal. That's really vague.

So, it'd be nice if someone could actually give me an actual guide or tell me HOW to properly do this before I accidentally fuck something up.

Like, do I keep x64e in the mods folder, or do I copy my modded police files to patchday17ng and just leave them there? What the fuck do I do? Why the fuck does this have to be so hard?

violently slams head on wall

As it turns out, the update folder isn't in GTA V in OpenIV, it's in the Grand Theft Auto V Steam folder.

Fuck, should've checked. Sorry.

You are griping over day 1 stuff, you really need to appreciate this community a little more.  This game wasn’t designed with lspdfr in mind, it was created from some very talented people who made it work (if you yourself ask why can’t it be easy, think of how complex coding lspdfr is )

You got a perfect response for realtjennings and snap at him because you didn’t take the time to research this on your own. I really hate seeing responses like yours.

Constructive criticism:  you will get no help from this community with your attitude

Now with that being said. Did you figure everything out yet or still having issues?

First of all, sorry for being an asshole. I just wasn't having a good day yesterday, man. It happens.

Second, yeah, I'm pretty sure I can handle this, but I just don't know how to move/copy my police vehicle files in x64e to the patchday18 vehicles.rpf.

Drag the files you want to move on to the desktop and then navigate to the folder you want to put those files in and drag them there (obviously you need it in edit mode)

anything you drag out of openiv doesn’t delete it it just basically makes a second copy
