Crook Hook

Featured Replies

That's prett old, and probably not too safe.

Look the first comment in the video:

"Could puncture gas tank, both cars go up in flames.

Would more likely just pull off the back bumper which the cop would run over causing accident.

Fleeing driver panics and turns to go off road flinging police car.

Fleeing driver panics and slams on brakes. Hooks scrape the now gaping gas tank, sparking and going up in flames."

It is kind of old...Anyways, here is what I think:

1: A large pickup truck such as a Ford F-350/150 or a GMC. Those would just pull the PI along unless it was something like a Dodge RAM

2: The bumper can be pulled (above) and the car can lose the suspect's car and will be no use

3: If they did do a sudden stop with it hooked, that little bar wouldn't give ANY safety, lol

4: In pursuit? I'll stick to spike strips.

would be ALOT safer then a PIT maneuver, even though a PIT is only recommended at low speed's, it's not even long enough to puncture a gas tank.

Not if it's a Ford Pinto the car which unaware fleeing drivers chose to commit the felone and flee... **ka boom!**

the older cars maybe, but that hook is only long enough to grapple the bumper or a secure piece of the frame in front of it
