So I found out that I actually created a backup of the old files with Ragehook before the update went live. Problem is that I fail to install it correctly, as my game still crashes while loading and the patch number in the bottom right corner says 1365(?) instead of 1290. I'm sure I forgot something but I can't figure out what exactly. I know I can play without Scripthook but I don't want to when I got everything I need to be able to play with mods (I hope so).

I can’t get any help in here. Everyone acts like it’s so easy to play a backed up game yet there’s no obvious way to bypass the game from auto updating.

I use this every time. Works 100%.

So after I update to the lastest patch if I restore the backup it's supposed to not try not to download the update files? 

I have a vanilla 1290 on d drive.  I just got a download of rph 61 from a guy on facebook.  Worked like a charm.  Go join lspdfr on facebook.  Granted you start over but once you got a stable 1290 just copy and store it somewhere and deny the update  when loading rph

Yes. If you follow the instructions. There are like three important steps.
Copy the exe files, update.rpf, add offline to the startup file.

Then let steam update the game, replace the new files with the ones you have backed up.

 

I'm using RSC. When I install the backup I get an error message which says that I already have the latest client. Is there someone who also has RSC and got it to work?
