police5,police6 and so on

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I was wondering if it would be possible to just rename a new vehicle to lets say police6 and if the type of vehicle would be similar to lets say police2 just to copy and paste the particular part from the vehicles.meta and the carvariations.meta (of course renaming in the copy part the police2 to police6) ?

And one other thing ..... the latest patchday I got is patchday17 - should I place all vehicles from police to police6 for example all in there? And if so where would be the vehicles.meta and the carvariations.meta be located?

Thanks

i would advise you to use:

However the game will not work if you have too many dlcpacks, if you do have to many use the latest patchday for the safest route, less chance of another patchday overiding your vehicles.

And on the meta part yes, only thing you have to make sure is that u use the right handlingline and if the car comes with a vehicles.meta use that one ofcourse

Thank you

there is just about 5 or 6 extra vehicles I want to install

The amount of vehicles doesn't matter (there is a max. but you can download a GameConfig.xml that will remove it), the amount of dlcpacks does, Albos modding pack will always be on top of evrything so you don't have to worry about Handling lines not working because there is a newer patchday thats overiding it.

Thank you

handlinglines?

You don't need to touch the handling.meta at all.  In the vehicles.meta, just change the handlingid to the appropriate vehicle.

Also check my guide for installing standalone cars -

Is it possible to install TOO many vehicles in Albo's file?  I'm crashing right now currently and I'm trying to figure out why...

Yes, there is such a thing as too many vehicles in one dlcpack.  How many do you have?

I just installed 30 models in Albo's MODDING folder, 11 of which are add-ons.  I just noticed that vanilla GTAV is no longer loading either, so perhaps it is an unrelated issue.  -verify command is not fixing the problem like it has 99% of the time.

In Albo's description of his mod, it says unlimited cars?

I have never used his.  Try removing his modding folder and see what happens.

Well, I was able to load to GTAV Vanilla menu, but crashed upon loading a saved game.  So I removed ASI loader from Open IV, now i can't even start GTAV period.  I get an ERR_GEN_INVALID.  There's no way it can have anything to do with modded files because this should have removed all of them from loading with GTAV.  Not even using Rage Plugin or ASI loader......

And the -verify command isn't helping.  I've run it about 6 times now.

I don't even know what happens with GTAV, it seems to break it self!

Remove the -verify, and reinstall the ASI Loader. Is it back to where we were originally?

I spent a few hours trialing different things, and it seems as if it is either the vehicles.meta or carvariations files in Albo's MODDING folders that is causing the problem.

I deleted the MODS folder entirely, and installed things one by one.  The only things that are installed in OpenIV are EUP Law, EUP Emergency, custom sirens, visual mods, and 30 custom vehicle models thus far.

Everything is working well right now with the exception that I have to re-write the carvariations and vehicles.meta.  I'm not actually sure what the problem is, though, and I'm not sure which file is causing the problem.

I'm not sure why this should have mattered, as I uninstalled ASI Loader and vanilla GTAV was STILL crashing.  What's up with that?  I thought anything in the mods folder should have been entirely ignored at that point.

I don't know.  Personally, I stick with manually installing my standalone cars and don't bother with anyone's "ease of use" mods. I prefer keeping track of everything.

I think it has to do with my FBI3, FBI4, FBI5, and FBI6 cars.  I was copying their carvariations and vehicles.meta files.  When I created my own text for my CHP, CHP1, CHP2, CHP3, CHP4, CHP5, and SHERIFF3 models, everything was fine and all was well!

Such a headache......hours and hours just to install a model.  My brainbox feels mossy.
