This is the error I keep getting:

Application Error:

Exception EFCreateError in module DSOUND.dll at 000116C5.

Cannot create file "C:\Program Files(x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\asilog.txt". Access is denied.

I'm pretty sure its the game not getting updated, but I have installed the 1.0,0.7 update from Rockstar but I could only install the UpdateTittle.exe from the zip folder.

This is also LCPDFR RC2

I had a similar problem. Tom H from LCPDFR told me that right clicking the GTA IV icon and selecting to run it as an administrator would solve it. It worked for me. The only trouble is you have to keep doing it everytime you wish to play. Or at least I do. Because for some reason I amn't an administrator on my own PC. It might be different for you. Anyway, perhaps you could try the same. If this doesn't work, tell us and we'll gladly help.

And Aimforthebrain, That's how Vista and 7 are....it's a safety feature so users don't screw shit up..and from what i've seen people do...................it was needed....your account tags administrator....but you don't have 100% control unless you know what you're doing

[DELETED] I do know what I am doing. I set myself up as an Administrator when I built the computer, but alas, every time I shut it down it removes the privelages. I do admit when I don't have a clue though. There's no shame in asking for help. Take SparkIV for example. I wasn't familiar with it and needed help. I got the help and now know how to use it. Please ignore my post. It has been left in for you to see what I had written and to prove I didn't insult anyone.
