I was wondering is there a specific mod that you can use to addon vehicles which have no custom carvariations, vehicles, carcols or handling files for gta 5 using extra police car slots or something like that?

I'm not entirely positive on what you're asking.  Are you asking if there's a way to use add-on vehicles without them having a vehicles.meta or carvariations?  If so, then no there isn't.  They have to have both to work properly.

yeah i guess that was part of what i was asking. actually i was wondering if there was a way to create those files for vehicles which dont have them or a mod which has blank files so you can add on cars and such using the proper data files from the mod. I have heard there is a mod out there by albo or someone that uses the extra car slots for addons and has carvariations and other data files to use with said mod. I am not sure how successful that or the gameconfig xml files would be for addons.

I don't believe there is, but it's not hard at all to get a meta and carvariation line for the cars.

 

For the vehicles.meta, just go into update-->update-->common-->data-->levels-->gta 5.  Take the "POLICE" meta line and copy it. Now you can paste it in another vehicles.meta, such as the one in mpchristmas2.  I strongly encourage you read my tutorial on installing these -

 

I also provide a functioning carvariations in case you need one for the car(s).

ok i will try this. though i wish there was an easier way to do it with gta 5. is there any way to add vehicles which dont have their own carvariations vehicles or any other data files? I have heard of a mod which provides something but I am not sure if that is what i would need to use.

I have never used modding dlcpack, so I can't comment.  However, I can tell you that you would still need to do the editing yourself.  There is no file that will do it all for you.

I use the modding dlc pack mentioned above. It’s great! But, like kallus said, you will have have to edit the carvar and metas one way or another. 

 

OK. thanks for letting me know. what exactly do i have to do if i want to add another firetruck and ambulance to the game? i know you can rename the vehicle files but in the metas i think you need to copy a couple of lines from the original meta files correct?

If you want to install a standalone firetruck, you have to add a working meta and carvar.  You can take the meta line from the vanilla firetruk and use it for your standalone firetruck, you just need to rename it.  Check my tutorial I linked above.

 

actually i have a question when you replace the gameconfig in open iv and start the game and play it i dont notice any difference with traffic or peds. is there a setting or such that i should know about that spawns more peds and vehicles in game? also someone did mention a realism mod to bring gta 5 to life i was wondering if i need to use that in conjunction with the gameconfig?

For the most part, the modified gameconfig just allows you to have more standalone cars.  There are other options in it, such as ped and traffic amount, but I never touch those.  The game config linked in my signature does include multiple options ranging from less traffic, less peds, or less traffic and less peds or it has more peds, more traffic or more peds and more traffic.  Whatever you're wanting.

For the one linked in my signature, it was updated January 18th of this year, so I believe it should be fine.
