Right about when the new update came out for GTA, I started crashing when I get into any car (add-on, modded, vanilla, etc.). I don't know what else to do.

Did you edit the vehiclelayouts.meta at any point?

I never advise installing .OIV files unless you know for sure what is being changed.

In OpenIV, go to update / update / common / data / ai.  Extract "vehiclelayouts.meta" to your desktop.

Next, go into mods / update / update / common / data / ai.  Click edit mode and drag the vehiclelayouts.meta there.  Click edit mode again and then try going back in game and getting into a vehicle.

(Do note, when doing all this, you should have the game closed)

thank you. I was just installing .oiv's about vehicle top speed and deformation and Realistic Guns and Weapons. That may have changed the vehiclelayouts.meta

umm you mean redownload the game?

No.  If you used a mods folder, you can either

a) If you know what files the mods replaced, you can go into the vanilla update folder, extract the files to your desktop, then go into the mods folder and place the vanilla files back in.

or

b) Remake the mods folder.

what files would it be causing the problem because i didnt have and issue until a few days after i installed the .oivs and i didnt install anything after that.

Generally the vehicleslayouts.meta is what causes it.  I'd go ahead and try backing that file up to the vanilla.

I doubt it, but please list everything you've recently installed/changed.

Before doing that, rename your mods folder to _mods and load into the game to see if it still crashes.

why does it have to be _mods and not just mods?

it says it crashes and does everything that it does when it crashes but when I click on the GTA5 icon on my task bar it pops up the game like it never crashed. I dont know what to do now

Okay, okay, slow down.

When I say rename it to _mods, I say that because renaming it that will prevent the mods folder from being used.  I'm trying to verify what is the actual problem.

So what did you do that was "too late"?

I uninstalled the .oiv before renaming it to _mods and testing it

So you uninstalled it.  When you start GTA via the GTA5.exe, what happens?
