i have an issue with my game that  i hope someone in the community can help me with. today i played gta5 and when i went to use one of my addon ambulances i noticed the lights would not turn on and all i was getting was the horn. not only that i checked some of my other models including some els cars on addon and they were not working either. i checked and double checked my metas and carvarations and all  were installed correctly and i even reinstalled asi scripts i know a gta 5 update went in and im sure that had something to do with it. im totally confused in lspdfr i use them for very important roles and im trying to figure what to do. ive used these models for the longest time and now they won't work im hoping i wont have to lose them considering i rely on them for certain things. what could it be?  ps a great majority of lines used came from this

Are you using ELS?   If yes, did you add an ELS VCF to the addon vehicles?

i am yes and i have about i think 5 vehicles i have in addon are default lighting :)

in addons i have both els vehicles and non els vehicles :)

For ELS vehicles, they have to have an ELS VCF in order to use the lights. 

 

If they are a non-ELS vehicle and you use ELS, they will still need a VCF in order to have the same basic light/siren functionality.  You'd just need to edit the VCF to make sure the non-ELS vehicle doesn't utilize the extras.

i do have the vcfs for the els vehicles so i have to create one for non els cars? also what about the carvaration strings does that have anything to with it?

Yes it does.  All vehicles need to have a carvariations to work properly.  If it's an emergency vehicle, the vehicle needs to have sirensetting=1

 

When you have ELS installed, all vehicles will need a VCF in order to have the full siren control.  If you don't have a VCF for non-ELS vehicles, all you can do is turn on lights/siren with E, you won't be able to use the different keys for sirens.  Here is a modified VCF that will work flawlessly with non-ELS vehicles, you just need to change the name of the file to match your car names.  Remember, you can right click-->copy the file, then paste it and change the name.

another thing with those addon slots i did put in there carvarations and meta lines and the txd relationships but after the retail update  came in again no lights and then when they come in as backup they show up in different  colors is it possible that addon lines expire?

No, the add-on lines don't expire unless Rockstar went in and edited that dlc.  They should still be there.

 

Also, you do not have to mess with the txd relationships.  I haven't for any of mine unless it specifically says to.

interesting because in 300+ cars they told me to put the lines in places like mpluxe mpluxe2 and mphiest and a majority of my cars went to 7ng (if i spelled that area correctly) the way they stopped working was just weird.

Double check the carvariations, vehicles.meta, and the vehicles.rpf and verify if the vehicles and their files are still there.

Only if there is a problem. :)  If your vehicles.meta is the exact same as it was before when it worked, there shouldn't be anything in it causing problems.

yep i followed the instructions to the letter i have no crashes or any type of lag from it all and also better ems which i put two of those addon vehicles is not working because of it https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/ford-e450-lafd-ambulance-4k-by-pimdslr   it was that version but with the new wheels and this one https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/ford-e450-led-version-ambulance-4k-by-pimdslr https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/pierce-lafd-firetruck-by-pimdslr and that one they came with carvarations of there own so better ems says they don't recognize them as a valid model :)

Try placing the ambulance files in x64e.

Alright, then remove them from x64e. You are using a mods folder, right?

Then your modded vehicles should be working fine.  You're using the very latest patchday?  Please post a screenshot showing where you're installing the vehicles.
