Alt+P Not Working....possible solution.....

Featured Replies

Like many other's I am having trouble getting the mod to start using alt + p. I am using the left alt key and have gone through the following troubleshooting procedures. I tried reinstalling the net framework 4.0 as well as the c++ 2010 redistibutable. I am running the game as an administrator and have made sure there are no read only folders. I disabled my UAC and tried reinstalling the game but all to no avail. Below are my logs using XLiveLess. I can also give you a log with dsound.dll although it is the exact same with the different asi loader.

My computer is brand new (less then a week old) It is running an Intel i7 with 8gb of memory and a 1tb hard drive with a nvidia video card. Needless to say it is more then powerful enough to run this mod. I am using a 64 bit system like most newer systems now are. I notice that the C++ Redistributable says (32-bit). Could that be the reason why all of these people are not able to start the mod, because we all have 64 bit systems and the c++ code is a 32 bit program. If not then I believe there might be some kind of bug or issue since multiple people have been reporting this problem with completely correct settings.

I hope we can come to a conclusion as to why this is happening and I look forward to hearing back from you guys. Thanks again for a great mod!

John

Did you try pressing left alt+P..???

Do you have xlive and dsound both installed?

Just Keep dsound NOT xlive

"I am using the left alt key and have gone through the following troubleshooting procedures"

I have tried each one seperately and do not have both installed at the same time......im still puzzled....does it have to be a capital p? lol

Then it would Left ALT SHIFT P.....also....on the keyboard its a capital P ya know....its just left alt p

You obviously cannot read the report he posted empire...it CLEARLY SAYS XLIVELESS....

I suggest trying dsound.dll and not xlive

Yeah I did that and it still doesn't work....I got the game from the gamestop website and downloaded it over the internet. It worked on my old computer however so it must be a setting or something with a newer computer. Maybe I should just buy it at the store so I have the actual disk version?

Yes....again in my original post....i have no faulty settings what so ever. Does anyone from LCPDFR have any thoughts? Or is it just members of the site?

it seems this issue is prevalent with the 2k games version of the game....As i do no have the 2k games version i cant reproduce the issue

Check out this thread and see if the problem is the same as yours:

Tom and I literally went through every contingency we had to try and fix the OP's problem but it just seemed to be something with the version that gets downloaded from gamestop and installed in 2k games that has issues with the mod. The only solution that worked for the OP of that thread was to buy a different copy from elsewhere.
