Someone else asked this question earlier, so I'll just copy-paste:   In terms of crashing, there isn't a list of "popular" plugins.  The plugins that will crash on launch or crash when going on duty generally are the ones that are outdated if they do it every single time.  Any plugin can cause a crash for any reason, it's the annoying part of modding. :P  If you're looking to see which mods work for you and which don't, the best way to tell this is just by trial and error.

It's not so much which mods crash your game, but which combination of mods or combination of up-to-date and dated mods in relation to your specific setup that crash your game.  With PC games, in general, crashing can be caused by one in about a hundred or more different things, either alone or in combination with one another.  When you throw in mods that were not intended by the original game developers to begin with, that introduces more.

For example, I've had very few issues with my game, including mods that other people found were very unstable. 
That's why there really isn't a definitive answer to "which mods are unstable".

It also comes down to the user and if they know what they are doing.  If you know what you're doing, you can fully mod your game (like I have mine) and rarely have issues.  I still get the occasional stupid access violations, but for the most part it works flawlessly.
