Need driver help?

Featured Replies

I've recently purchased an ASUS F556U-UH71 laptop with Windows 10 as the native operating system. I upgraded to Windows 7 and I had no issue migrating all of the drivers except for the Intel graphics drivers and touchpad drivers. Intel drivers just don't want to install, and whenever I run the ASUS Smart Gesture software, it says that it can't find an entry point in USER32.dll.

Exact error message: The procedure entry point InjectTouchInput could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll

Help would be much appreciated.

this may seem like a patronising question, but I gotta check anyway: have you made sure you got the correct drivers?

Anyways, a quick google found this:

I just went through this after the Windows 10 Update told me that all of my hardware and software was compatible with Windows 10, but once in Windows 10, my WiDi no longer worked.  So here I found myself, back at Windows 7.

I had the exact same issue with my ASUS UX31A laptop and was able to easily fix it by uninstalling ASUS Smart Gesture, then downloading the latest pointer driver from the ASUS website.  It was the same version that I already had installed, but the uninstall and then install process was the key.  Merely repairing ASUS Smart Gesture from the Programs and Feature list did not fix the problem.

I learned this, of course, after going through the hours-long process that Microsoft outlined above.  Microsoft Support is worthless, and so is their Windows 10 hardware/software review process.

alternatively, if the simple fix doesn't work:

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per the description, I understand that you are getting an error message.

I would suggest you perform an SFC Scan and check if it helps.

Refer to the following link given below.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

Note: While performing SFC Scan I would recommend you to make sure that there are no applications or programs running on the back ground.

I would also suggest you run DISM tool to fix Windows Corruptions and check.

Hope this information helps.

Good Luck!

Thanks, I'll be sure to try them both :)

I used Driver Identifier, which helped me get my Universal Serial Bus Controller drivers, as well as other miscellaneous tidbits. I'll check again though.

No. I edited the drivers for Intel graphics to be compatible with W7, but it says that it failed to install one or more components.

With the touchpad drivers, the installer just quits and says "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
