Airsoft GBB Green gas or CO2 pistol?

Featured Replies

Hello to you all,

Since I know a lot of you are into airsoft I would like some opinions.

During my internship, I got the chance to shoot a glock 17 at the shooting range and I got hooked to pistols.

I do already own a spring airsoft sniper, a gamo big cat 1200 air rifle (not airsoft) for occasional plinking in the backyard and some airsoft pistols (eg. Taurus) but nothing fancy or realistic.

The strict gun laws in Belgium mean though that I won't have the chance to own a real pistol, at least not until I enlist at the police academy next year

That's why I went searching for something as close as possible to the real deal.

I got interested in GBB or Gas Blowback pistols. These pistols mimic blowback to deliver a realistic experience. I found there are two options however to power the pistol, being green gas or co2.

Hence my question, what would you recommend for a recreational shooter who whants a realistic experience?

The pistol that caught my eye is this one: http://redwolfairsof..._Generation.htm

Any advice or experiences would be much appreciated.

Regards

So when you want realism, go for the green gas? How many shots would I be able to fire with a 1000ml bottle?

Thanks for the info. Will probably wait for some more opinions though and then decide which one to go with.

i have 4 GBB pistols, one can be Co2 or gg, a gg m4, and an aeg m4, as well as a real steal ar15 m4 style rifle and real steel glock

As an airsoft enthusiast and former active player (still am, but not as active), I have owned only GG. Co2 Freezes in the winter and also tends to create leakage in the mags. As well as the leakage, co2 is more expensive compared to green gas. If you don't want to spend the $12 for GG then get propane. It's exactly the same and is only $2 in US. You can usually find it at an outdoors or sports shop. From what I understand from my friends, they would prefer green gas because it tends to stay in better condition, but co2 is the most easy way to carry in a game. If it came down to it,

Green Gas- By far a better choice

Everything needs more lights.

Thanks for the advice. I'll go with the green gas then. Another thing, I'm used to cleaning and taking care of my air rifle but how much maintenance does a green gas GBB require?

Usually some silicon oil to keep the moving parts working smoothly. least that what i was taught by the local airsoft nuts and shops
