Possible repeat of 2011 London Riots?

Recommended Posts

With the death of two young black men recently, it seems that tension is repeating and I fear a repeat of the 2011 riots. Anyone feel the same? I don't get how the latest death is the police's fault. It appears he swallowed the drugs while being chased by police. How that makes it the police's fault I don't know. Ludicrous to think the head of a "diversity" group at Cambridge University is encouraging violence.

I haven't heard of this recent incident you're mentioning, but one thing is for sure - in this day and age, people will find any excuse to riot, aka be vandals.  The hard truth that goes along with this is that people specifically try and say something is race related.  Yes, in some cases it is, but just because one incident involves a person of another race doesn't automatically make it race related.

Everyone has a nasty habit of jumping to conclusions and verdicts long before the facts are actually revealed. It's as if folks are desperate to start chaos.

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

The accusation I've heard today is that a Hackney police officer strangled the suspect while trying to stop them swallowing drugs. The IPCC (Independent Police Complaints Commission) seems to be backing up the idea that he had something in his throat, but don't have an official cause of death yet.

As @Kallus Rourke pointed out, most evidence isn't really public at the moment, so it's too soon to make a proper judgement. It does seem like violence is unfortunately likely, but I haven't seen any signs yet that it's going to get out of hand like the London Riots did six years ago. This stuff happens, people throw stuff. It doesn't always blow up.
