Game Crashes

Hello, I know these constant crashes seem to be happening for a lot of people on here. I have the same issues, I can go on duty, everything loads perfectly fine and the game will without fail crash on my second activity during the patrol. I can get away with one pullover or so and as soon as I get a callout, I go to it and as im pulling up to it game will crash 100% of the time. I tried removing some plugins to no avail. The problem still persists no matter what I do. Also I noticed that most of the time but not always the crashes seem to occur when I am either doing a callout, pullover or a chase happens to enter mission row/downtown area. Hopefully someone can help me out with determining which plugin or fault is causing these constant crashes. All the crash logs also start off saying something about "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION"... Here is my most recent crash log.

With you being on Windows 10, lets verify if this might be an issue or not -

It is not. I already looked over that topic and did all the steps it says, that fixed my issue that I had earlier which was hat LSPDFR.dll was crashing (not the whole game) whenever I went near the police station in Mission Row. Then if I was to reload LSPDFR.dll and try to go on duty when anywhere near the police station in mission row the game would then crash. That issue is resolved and I can now go to that station and go on duty or force duty in or near that station. It seems that I am crashing mostly near Simeon's dealership. I am going to run a few tests to see if my game freezes while not on duty in mission row and while on duty to see if my crashes are isolated to a certain area of the map or not. I noticed yesterday before I called it a night that I was on duty and about to pull someone over and as soon as I went through the intersection where simeon's dealership is I froze as soon as I pressed the button to pull the suspect over. It may be a plugin that is causing the fault however I am starting to think that the problem lies with my actual game install rather than with LSPDFR or RAGE... (I have the physical copy and it kept having errors during the install so after the 3rd time getting to the 5th disc and freezing I decided to just download the game from Social Club, which worked fine. Also I should note that I downloaded a save file and installed it to my game so I wouldn't have to play the prologue as it was bugging out when I tried; i.e: characters not appearing and game telling me to aim at someone that isnt actually there...) Also I have not done any missions myself and was on the part where Simeon calls you to come to his dealership, but I did not answer his calls and instead put the phone on sleep mode. So maybe when I get near Simeon's dealership it is trying to trigger the mission cutscene to start even though it is not there yet; and that on top of me being in the middle of a callout or pursuit it is too much for the game to handle so it crashes??? Im just throwing ideas out there but I am going to do tests now as I just got home from work and ill keep you updated.

UPDATE: I was correct. I just started my game through RAGE and didnt go on duty or open any mods. Just drove as Franklin to Simeon's dealership and as soon as I got on the left side of the building on the main road I immediately crashed. I was not on duty or anything, just drove over there and instantly crashed the game. Now I have to figure out how to fix that issue... Hopefully not reinstalling the game as that took me forever and I cant use my backup as it is a copy of the same exact thing I have now, just without mods... 

 

Do you think it may be as simple as reinstalling RAGE? Or do you think I need to reinstall the whole game? Please let me know what you think. Here is my crash log that just happened, perhaps it has something in there telling what exactly caused that crash.

You downloaded a game save, but it's not a completed one, is it?  If not, you should probably do the Simeon missions just until that cutscene goes by and you're now in actual free roam.  During pursuits, does LSPDFR just crash, or is it a full crash to desktop?

I just updated my original reply. It is a full crash to desktop. Crashes whether on duty or not. It crashed me just going near Simeon's while as franklin with no mods on in franklin's car... 

 

EDIT: No it is a not a completed save, just a save after the mission "Franklin and Lamar".  I usually patrol in the city in Downtown/South Los Santos so I wanted my save point to be at Franklin's aunts house so I don't have to drive far to get to HQ. (Rather roleplay driving to the station and getting my weapons/uniform/vehicle than just force dutying anywhere...)

Go ahead and complete his missions, please.  Or, if you don't want to, there might be game saves that has a complete game.

Okay, tried to do the mission. Got Simeon's call and went to his dealership to start the mission and froze upon entering the back of the dealership... So I can't do the mission... Any ideas on how to fix this freeze at Simeon's dealership? Do I need to reinstall the game or maybe just do the mission in regular game then running it on RAGE?

I don't want to advise anything drastic, however, with you having errors during install, I can't help but wonder if your game might be corrupt.  Lets try verifying the integrity of game cache.

 

If you don't know how on disc - Create a shortcut of the GTAVLauncher.exe file that is in your GTA V folder.  Right click it and hit "properties".  Now you have to add -verify after your directory here an example.

 

D:\Programmi\GTAVLauncher.exe -verify

 

apply and save

 

Done, hit the shortcut and the verify will start.

I installed a new save with 100% completion. Still crashed at simeons, same spot. So I am now attempting your suggestion, it will not let me apply or hit okay when I change the target. I get an error message saying "The name specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct"...

Unfortunately, I'm on the Steam version, so I'm not too knowledgeable with disc.  I think the best option might be to do a reinstall.

I looked up the verify method you stated and found the original post you copied from for the example, I read the thread and it turns out that method no longer works, however if you do that method to "PlayGTA.exe -verify" it does work. Im gonna let it verify now and ill come back with the results.

Okay, so I did the verify and no more game crashes!!! So that issue is solved. Now I discovered a new issue. Whenever I go near the Mission Row police station (Downtown) LSPDFR.dll crashes. I try to reload LSPDFR.dll when near the police station and it instantly crashes again, however no game crash. (Just LSPDFR.dll crashing.) That may have something to do with the windows 10 creative update. I already did the fixes recommended in that topic so now I am at a loss. If I go anywhere near that police station LSPDFR.dll will instantly crash. Any ideas on how to fix that one besides what the topic of the windows 10 update says?

 

EDIT: This did happen before to me and it fixed itself to the point where I could go near/in the station with no LSPDFR.dll crashes while on or off duty. Now that problem is back... No clue on what to do there..

You're not running in compatibility mode or anything, right?  Also make sure GTA V is set as an exception in your anti virus and firewall.

Start Rage, and in the lower left, click the gear icon to open Rage's settings.  Check to see if "Enable Counter Measures Against Online Vehicles Being Removed In Singleplayer" is checked.  If it is, uncheck it, save, and launch to see if that fixes it.

 

If the above doesn't apply, please launch GTA V via the normal GTA5.exe.  Once in game, go near a police station.  If it doesn't crash, this means it is limited to Rage/LSPDFR.

I can sit in the police station and keep reloading LSPDFR.dll via the rage command console and it will just keep crashing LSPDFR, but not the game. With that being said I know it is an issue limited to Rage/LSPDFR. Im just trying to figure out how to get LSPDFR to stop crashing when I go near that police station. Are you using police station armory or any type of police station based plugin?
