GTA Iv Is lagging since today.

Featured Replies

So i went to bad last night and when i woke up this morning and wanted to play some GTA IV, Its suddenly lagging like hell.

I looked for a memory leak. But it wasn't using alot of RAM. I checked my CPU and it was not even using all of it. some cores 25% some 60%.

I don't get it it worked fine last night now its lagging even in the menu's and loading screen,

I don't notice lagg in any other game.

Specs:

AMD Phenom x4 965 Black Edition @ 4 Ghz Cooled by: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO

8 GB Ram

600W PSU

ASUS ENGTX550 Ti.

Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bits

Its not overheating or anything. Who has the solution ? You would make me a happy man

Back in town!

1.) Did you download any other mods for the game and install them since last night? ( If yes uninstall the mod )

2.) Did you advance any further in the game i know it sounds silly but some times advancing in game play and screw over your game. ( either try to go further in the game or start a new game and don't go pass the 2nd mission.)

3.) Computer error some times when you turn your computer off it will turn back on and it wont be the same. ( perhaps try restarting the computer, restore the computer to a few days before the game became poo, install any window updates.)

4.) Graphic card drivers got corrupted. ( easy just reinstall the drivers.)

5.) Did you change any setting in the game. ( just click restore to default and than set the graphics and what not again. ( make sure Vsync is off)

Just some of the things I have done when my game as lag or become poo like yours...

Thanks for the reply.

1. I installed some vehicles but i played with them last night, So that can't be the source of the problem.

2. No i am still at mission 2. Haha ;)

3. I restarted my computer did some tricks i learned from IT, But still no result

4. Seems not logic? Other games are not lagging. Will still do it

5. Nothing has been Changed VSync is off.

Make sure your virus scanner isn't trying to block GTA because of a file you downloaded/ same thing with a firewall.

2.) This one I read online make sure its using as many cores as possible.

3.) This is sometimes a problem that will solve its self, like I play arma 2 CO and some times I get a max of 15 fps 1 day. Next day I will get 50 fps, no one knows why or how but that just happens sometimes lol. There are some videos online that (clam) it can solve this problem will send you a link.

4.) Also this happen to me MAKE SURE your windows background isnt changing pictures every so often; I know you can do that in windows 7 but turn that off well your gaming will help some.

Its using all the cores.

Its still not solved. My background picture is always the same because i use 3 monitors. I have one that spreads over it so.

I tried some other things like putting off windows event log etc. No difference the problem is not there when i stand still but its there when i move.

With one of the cars you replaced were any of them saved any where? Like in the parking spot in front of your house if you replaced that car file it would screw your game up. Also I would just replace all the car files you installed the night before. Only thing I can think of now...

Ok,

Well i found out if i keep on walking through the lagg till the Police station. Then its over after a few minutes, Only when i press pause ingame and ALT Tab to my desktop or something then alt tab back its lagging like hell and it wont stop. But i can live with the first few minutes of lag after that its a steady 60 Fps again.
