Hi there.  Can you please elaborate on "permission issue"?

Sure.  Everything seems fine when loading the rage application per my log until the following entry:

16:24:24.325: An unhandled exception has occurred.
16:24:24.327: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\startup.rphs' is denied.

After that, the whole thing goes down the tubes...

Thanks for the tip, yes I'm on Win 10, but it did not fix my problem.

JG

Go into your GTA V directory and scroll down to startup.rphs.  Right click--> properties-->security.  You'll now see

Permission for ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES.   There should be two checkmarks under allow, one for read & execute, the other on "read".  Is this correct for you?

yes that is what it looks like

Is your computer an administrative account, though?

Also, please include screenshots of your GTA V directory, including the folder path. (the bar at the top)

Yes on admin and .exes are being run as administrator.

You appear to have an external drive (E) that has GTA on it.  Does this also have a GTA directory in it?

That is a DVD drive in which the GTA V disk 1 is located...still in there after fresh install.

Ahh, okay.   What version of RagePluginHook are you using?

the latest, Open Alpha - 0.55.1131.11501

Open the ''Startup.rphs'' with notepad and make sure it says ''LoadPlugin LSPD First Response.dll''.  If not write it in there

Thanks Kallus.  Yes the file has that...only line of text in it.

JG

Alright, two parts to this.  The second part is in case the first fails.  Open your anti virus and add GTA as an exception.  Do the same with your firewall if this doesn't fix the issue.

If both fail, reinstall RagePluginHook, except this time, disable your anti virus before you move the files over.  (Don't disable your firewall, just the anti virus).

I haven't added any antivirus except whatever comes with Win 10.  It is a stock machine, brand new.  I am reinstalling gta now.  We shall see what happens!

Thanks!!

Alright, good luck. Though I meant reinstall Rage, not the entire game, lol.

yea I'm just grasping at straws here.  I bought this computer to run xplane as my main interest is in flight simulation.  I just had a good time with gta on ps4 and decided to try lspdfr after watching the great videos on youtube.

This is mainly coming down to permission issues.  If a reinstall of Rage, and GTA, if you choose to go that far, doesn't work, you may need to fiddle with your windows settings.  Something in your privacy setting is preventing Rage from working.  Just for safe measures, I'd double check that you are not on the creator's update and have a gaming tab.  That's the only thing at this point that I can think of.
