What siren do CHP 1980s cars use?

Hey buddies! I'm about to create a 1980s California Highway Patrol Pack. But there's something that I don't get: what siren do CHP 80s cars use?

From what I heard from these videos, I guess it's a Code 3 PSE siren, but I don't know if it's a V-Con or something else of that type. Any expert here?

Federal Signal PA300 which was in use from the early 80s to I believe the mid to late 90s.

@Lundy I just realized that in the CHP car video, the sound pitch is higher. This is the video of the FS PA300 demo:

The PA300 was the siren used by the CHP until they moved up to the PA500. Before that, they had PA-20s installed afaik. The car you're referencing is more than likely a show-car.

OK. So the FS PA300 is the siren of the 1980s CHP cars (LTD Crown Vic, Bronco, Caprice, etc.). Thanks for your answer.

@Lundy Sorry if I disturb you one more time. I found out that there are more versions of PA300 siren. Is the one in GravelRoadCop's siren pack the version you're talking about? Can you link a video of its demo? Thank you in advance!

I've never used his siren pack. If it says PA300, then it should be a PA300 assuming he labeled them correctly.

The videos you found may sound different because the tones aren't being put out from an actual siren speaker. This is what it should sound like.

@Lundy I found this video featuring a 1979 CHP Chevrolet Caprice, whose description says the siren is Federal Signal PA300. But as you can notice, the tones sound differently compared to the other video you linked me.

Who knows what he's using. That's the issue with a lot of these foreign clone cars. They're never really spot-on.
