Strange Crashes

Featured Replies

Hello, LCPD:FR forum users. I am requesting help for the GTAIV LCPD:FR modification. I have the mod installed, and it works almost perfectly. All civilian traffic were either all taxis or all SUVs, so to counteract it I used Traffic-flow mod, which I know works fine, along with ELS, due to various videos from trustworthy filmmakers. I do have a few vehicle mods installed, not many, but some. The only lag I get is from when I call in backup and all the police cars crowd around together, and my frame-rate drops due to the high amount of add-on police cars. Anyway, the mod works perfectly, up until the 30-40 minute mark, where it spontaneously crashes. Does anyone know what I should do, because the mod works fine for other players with these other, basic mods installed, so I don't know why it isn't working for me? Any useful help would be much obliged. Thank you.

ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS

-Uninstalled all extra addons

-Installed only certain mods to find the problem or solution

-Double-checked I was running in administrator mode

-Reloaded scripts upon spawning, which reduced my play time

Extra Problems

-Diagnostic Check website was offline

-Edit-

Version is .95

I don't play with car mods, and my last session with LCPDFR, it didn't crash me, and I played for about an hour or so before I ended my session.

I think it's the ELS car mods that are causing the crashing. I know when I use to use ELS car mods (or car mods in general), I would crash after about half an hour of play. So you can try playing with out ELS car mods or just no car mods. Sorry that I am not much of help.

The is fine for me...are you attemtping to download it from the same place? Please run this tool as admin and post your diagnostics report here, and hopefully we can assist you further.

But, as Custo has said and from my experience, ELS is very unstable, and if you also use a traffic fix mod, it will become even worse. I've found that crash frequency is proportional to vehicle density—the more high-poly vehicles (i.e. anything besides the default taxis, which have the lowest polys in the game) you have, the higher the chances the crash-inducing "ticking time bomb" will go off. Thus, you can either turn off ELS for the AI, lower vehicle density, stop using the traffic fix, or stop using ELS to solve the problem.
