GTA.exe has stopped working

Greetings All,

I am new to LCPD:FR and GTA 4 for that matter. I jsut built my new computer last night, I installed GTA 4 and tested it successfully last evening. Then I wanted to put LCPD:FR on it, so I installed it by itself and GTA 4 stopped working. I uninstalled GTA 4, did some research on the issue and found out that I needed some other files in order to get it to work. This morning I installed the below items again and tested GTA 4 again...it still crashed. I am totally confused! Below are all the specs about my system, my game, and what I have installed to get this to work. If you know what is going on please assist!

PC Specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom x4 2.3 Ghz

RAM: 4GB

VRAM: ATI Radeon HD 5450 1GB

OS: Windows Vista Business with SP1

GTA 4 Installs:

GTA 4 [Original Version]

GTA 4 Update 1.0.7

LCPD:FR

LCPD:FR v0.91

.Net Framework 3.5 SP1

.Net Framework 4.0 Standalone

C++ 2010 Redistribute

ASI Loader DSOUND (I have also tried XLiveLess)

C++ Script Hook

ELS Version 6

Radiance Mod

Luminescence Mod

With all of this installed the game has still crashed...any ideas? Also, I would like to install modded police cars, only I can't figure it out...I downloaded Spark IV and a few mods from GTAPOLICEMOD and I can't figure it out...if possible can anyone assist me with that too!

Let me know!

Thanks,

AndrewHB

Run this tool: http://www.lcpdfr.com/cops/forum/index.php/files/file/2-g17-media-iv-diagnostics-tool-043/ and post the log it creates, here.

I will give this a try and upload my results this evening or first thing in the morning...I am currently at work and don't have access to my home machine.

Thanks, AndrewHB

I have a question...in the installation instructions it says to run the installer as an administrator, does that really fix the problem I am having??? I havenm't attempted that yet, but since this is the 6th time I have freshly installed GTA 4 I will give ita try if it works!

Thanks,

AndrewHB

::EDIT:: Okay, I put a fresh install of GTA 4 on my system then jsut installed the patch 1.0.7...GTA 4 still crashed. Next I uninstalled it and reinstalled it...then put just LCPDFR with no patch (even ran the installer is Admin), GTA 4 still crashed. Then I deleted the LCPDFR mod and tried to run GTA 4 (with no patches) and it never opened.

Any ideas? I am about ready to give up on LCPD:FR (I really like what I have seen in this mod, but I can't get it to work at all on my machine!!)

All,

This issue is now closed! I was able to fix the problem. After about the 7th install of GTA 4, I went to Rcokstar's website and downloaded a fresh copy of the patch (1.0.7). I installed that and tested GTA without LCPD:FR and it worked. I then installed a freshly downloaded copy of LCPD:FR v0.91, then tested the game again and it worked!

Now I just need to learn to drive...lol...

Thanks for your support!
