I havent changed anything from 6 hours ago, now all of a sudden I get a screen that says autosave is off (which its not), wants to start me at the beginning of the game, I then load a previous saved game and rph is loaded but the game does whatever it wants with no input from me. Guns blazing etc... I am thinking about buying the cd version and getting away from steam.

i personally Have never had an issue with the Steam version of GTAV but if you feel it could make an improvement switching to disk. go for it  

I dont know, all I know is that I left, came back 6 hours later and now the steam version is doing wild things with no input from me. I walk out of the house and instantly start shooting the shotgun while my controller sits on the desk, get in my car and burns the rubber off the rims. Other than that, all is great I guess.

ah i have had that issue. i found it was an issue with my controller or my controllers software sometimes it doesn't register properly. 

 

does it happen when the controller is disconnected
