How do I start moding?

Featured Replies

What all do I need to do to start moding? I watch videos of police mods all the time and I think it looks pretty cool and I want to learn how to start moding myself. So if someone could please help me, I would really appreciate it.

It's not easy, but i started modding even before i knew about the whole modding community, honestly, it's alot of headache and frustration when your getting started, those links should help you alot if you really want to learn, if you have any questions, feel free to ask and either me, or i'm sure another member would be more then happy to help you, Welcome to the forums

I can tell you learning 3D modeling for GTA 4 or 3D modeling at all is a frustrating way.I started to learn it and it was very hard but if you started you cant stop.

Sometime you just want to smash you PC because you have a problem and you cant get it fixed. But the GTA communities are very helpful. You totally can ask some modders and they will help you. (they helped me so I consider they will help you to).

And the feeling when you see you own car mod in-game even if it has bugs on it is so great I cant describe it. I hope we will see some of your mods in some weeks when you learned the basic stuff.

Even if I am not a total pro in modding I can give you some help if needed. Maybe I make some video tutorials if needed

Thank you for welcoming me to the forums. I have no idea on how to do anything with modding, I don't even have gta 4 for pc yet, where can I get that? I am also saving money to get a new computer, the one I am using now is not even mine, so any recommendations for a good computer?

download it from steam, or find a store that sells it and buy it.. as for a PC, i'd say NO laptops and anything with an intel iX (i5,i6,7 or w/e) or an AMD Bulldozer processer will do you fine

What kind of modding exactly?

What do you want to be able to do?

What experience or skills do you have?

I am wanting to get some kind of police mod and police car mods.

I have no skills or experience with modding at all.
