Vanilla GTA V Crashing after Launcher w/ Ragehook

Hey there folks,

I know this is just as likely to get taken down since this technically isn't ragehook support, but I just wanted to know if anyone is experiencing issues with the latest RH and the newest patch for GTA 1011. After the launcher loads, the game will go to a black screen, and then crash and generate a report.

If I load the game up via steam or the .exe, it loads perfectly fine.

This is a clean install with only LSPDFR installed - no mods folder, no modifications, no scripts other than LSPDFR (which is set NOT to load on startup.)

Anyone know what's going on?

Hmm.. I had this issue before I updated to the latest patch and RPH versions, but updating both resolved the issue .. Maybe try just plain ol' re-downloading and re-installing the newest RPH?

Are you going into / using GTA or RPH in offline mode (to block future patches) at all?

I am setting it to offline mode, yes, and I am definitely running the compatible version of RPH, as it says so in the settings tab before starting up the game. I've also tried running it on elevated privileges.

Upon redownloading RPH and installing it, the same problem continues to occur. I'm truly at a loss as to what could be causing this, particularly if other folks aren't having issues with this particular patch and its respective RPH

I generated a crash report, you can find it here. Thanks so much for your assistance thus far.

The only link between our two issues were that I was using it in offline mode too to avoid the latest patch, but now that I've updated I'm not running it in offline mode - and I'm yet to see the issue again..
This makes me think that the issue is running GTA V in offline mode - which is for some reason causing issues in these later versions ..

Now that you've updated - there won't be another patch for a while I imagine, so I'd suggest removing any firewall blocks on GTA and RPH and allowing them both to run connected to the internet.

Tell me if this fixes your issue, I'm curious to know .. Cheers.

Gave it a try earlier today - no luck. I ran it online and offline mode, with an without firewalls and virus protection. Nothing worked. Reinstalled again, just to be sure, and put in nothing other than RPH (also tried it by including and excluding the new Scripthook update). Zero change. The game window opens, black screen, crash - same log.

Hmm.. It's certainly strange - especially seeing as I've definitely experienced the same thing as you (so I know how frustrating it is) but now my game works perfectly while yours doesn't..

Just for confirmation can you go to Windows Firewall and look at Outbound rules and check that you haven't accidentally left something blocked? I trust that you didn't but just for the sake of checking twice.
I did a quick Google search and a user had this exact same issue however turning off 'Windows 10 recording' fixed their case, they apparently didn't even know it was running. (didn't know that Win10 recording was a thing, so I really can't tell you how to check it / turn it on/off lol, maybe try Task Manager first, then go from there..)

I've never really learned to read these crash logs so I can't really tell what's going on, it's all jibberish to me, all I noticed was 'exitcode: 0' which is just "unexpected error" which we knew anyway because that's the title of the box when the game goes black and shuts down .. Hmm.

The only difference between your game and my game now is this:
- Mine's heavily modded with cars, plugins and visual mods - but works - while your near-stock game doesn't..

- I've installed all the .asi options from OpenIV (crash log says you've got OpenCamera.asi, I'm not sure if you've got the rest like ASILoader)
- Mine is the retail version instead of the steam version (just means I load up through R* Social Club Launcher not Steam..)
Otherwise same update, running in online mode ..

Here's some troubleshooting you've probably already tried:
* When you open RPH go into settings (via the cog or holding shift) and check you're not running any startup option thingo's like the -Verify update one.
* Next up try opening GTA V through RPH but this time selecting "Don't load any plugin"
* Try some other crap tier solutions like updating GPU drivers or downgrading to an old patch that you know worked. I'd suggest doing it properly with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). These probably won't solve the issue but atleast we can cross them off the list of possibilities and they take basically no time at all.

Other than that, keep googling and looking around especially on the RPH forum, as it seems like this has happened to a few more users so you'll likely find a few more solutions on there.

So, your on Windows 10? Have you tried adding the GTA V folder to the Windows Defender exceptions?

I use Kaspersky Internet Security, so Windows Defender is deactivated and with all internet security turned off (Including Kaspersky), it still doesn't work.

Will do, thanks for all the help you've given. I'm looking around, but the RPH site isn't giving me much feedback and all else seems to be failing. I'll poke back sooner or later with an update.

The RPH forums are dead. There is only active support on the Discord server.
