Non player characters ignores me in an ELS car

Hi everyone

First, I'm sorry if any asolution has already been provided, 'coz I've searched and havn't found any...

 

As some other people, I have a really annoying issue with ELS : when I'm intempting to perform a traffic stop, the driver I aim ignores me. Here's what I do :
- I press LShift (or A controller button) -> the vehicle is red blipped on the minimap
And that's it ! No matter whatever I press next, nothing happens (light on everything by pressing Jx3 or left pad, blipping it with T, Y, B controller, turn on siren with G, 1, 2, 3, 4...). As I've changed my .ini lines "ElsActiveOnAi" and "ElsTrafCtrlOn" into "false", they don't go nuts by driving straight ahead 'til they hit a wall, but they don't do anything.

 

Where the problem could come from ?

Any help would be much appreciated !

Found something : I've switched ELS-car slots that were "police21" and "police22" (I have around 300 different police models) into "police" and "police2" and, finaly, non-player characters seems to recognize me as a cop when I'm intempting to pull them over !

So, it seems that ELS works only with the vanilla slots (police, police2, police3, police4, policeold1, policeold2, riot, policeb, policet, fbi, fbi2, sheriff, sheriff2) so to drivers obey to your orders !

 

It might be a way to change it, but I don't know how...

Well, not a lot of people seems to care about this problem but I post the solution anyway for those who may have the same issue :

 

You have to add carvariations.meta lines to every model you add, even if they have their own ELS-lightning-variation file (VCF) so to drivers can be pulled over when you activate your lights and siren.

@Sakeeeee Did you try this with more than 1 vehicle? I got about 30 cop cars in a DLCPack (all of them are ELS) and only 1 of them actually works and can be used to pull people/traffic over. In the spoiler below I put 2 carvariations.meta lines and 2 vehicles.meta lines for 2 cars which are the exact same car except one of them is a slicktop. "bcso1" works fine and can be used on traffic stops, "bcso2" is the slicktop version of the same car but doesn't work when it comes to pulling people/traffic over. Both of the cars have sounds, LSPDFR police computer and the "FLAG_LAW_ENFORCEMENT FLAG_EMERGENCY_SERVICE" flags in the vehicles.meta file. All of the basic vehicle functions work as well, you just can't use it when it comes to traffic stops. This same goes for all of the rest of the vehicles in the DLCPack and I just can't figure out what is wrong with the rest of them.

Now that's tricky... Did you check if there was any conflict with another "bcso2" you might have in this dlcpack OR another one ?

Although your .meta lines seems correct, if you have another "bcso2" somewhere else, this one might works instead of the one you're talking about...

 

Also, send me the link of the car you've downloaded, I'll try to play with with your .meta lines.

No conflicts, the DLCPack that I made is the only one I have in the game at the moment, and there's no other file called "bcso2" in the whole game so I don't think that's the problem.

As for your lines, I'll try them a bit later once I'm back home, hopefully they'll work, haha. Just wanted to give you the link to the mod and what not so you can try it out as well.

 

EDIT: No difference with your lines. The car still doesn't work on traffic stops. I really don't understand what is wrong with this thing.

EDIT2: Could you post a link to one of the ELS cop cars that you use in your DLCPack along with the lines that you use for that car so I give it a try and see if it works for me?

Bad news :

 

As I use about 300 different police/ems car models, I've downloaded and installed the pack you're in trouble with few weeks ago. And I replaced my .meta lines with yours, and it works for me.

 

The usefull point about it is that your problem doesn't come from your .meta lines  :whistling:

(the link for the model I use with the .meta lines I sent to you earlier is this one :

But I think it's useless because your carvariations and vehicles.meta works on me, so...

 

Could you explain exactly what the problem is when you try to perform a traffic stop ? What happens ?

 

Don't wanna desperate you, but I can't figure out why you can perform a traffic stop with an ELS car model without encouting any issue, and failing to do the same with any other model which have the exact same configuration, right ? :pinch:

Send me some screenshots of your custom dlcpack files installation places through OpenIV, and of your .xml VCF files.

 

It's not finished yet, we'll try to find what the problem is !

Yeah, I figured the .meta lines were fine since the first car worked and since both of them shared the exact same lines, haha. But glad to have a confirmation from somebody else as well just to be 100% sure that the lines are working correctly.

 

As for the traffic stop, here's what happens:

As you can see, when I hit Shift, I get the red blip on the map and the notification saying that I need to activate my lights & sirens to pull the person in front of me over. I put the lights & sirens on but the person never pulls over, he just keeps driving as normal. Another way to know that the car isn't working as a proper police car is when you activate the lights & sirens while driving in traffic and none of the traffic actually moves over to the side of the road to let you pass.

 

Here's the same traffic stop on the "bcso1" car which works fine:

Correct. I can perform the traffic stop on the "bcso1" (2nd spoiler) but not on the "bcso2" car (1st spoiler). They both share the exact same .meta lines and the only difference is the name.

I think next if we can't figure out anything that is wrong with the files, I'll try Albo's DLCPack 'template' that he released some days ago and just copy paste my modded files into that DLCPack and see if the cars work. I remember having an issue earlier with a DLCPack that got fixed when I simply used a different 'template' to install the files to, so that could be case again. 

 

EDIT: I wasn't planning on trying this today but I figured I'd give it a try now just because I was really curious to see if it worked. So I used Albo's DLCPack template and just copied all of my edited .meta files & vehicle files over to his folders, and it worked. All of the vehicles that have been added with the DLCPack can now be used on traffic stops (like you can see in the spoiler below where I used the bcso2 car which didn't work before) and the traffic moves over to the side of the road when going around with lights & sirens on. I'm still not really sure what is wrong with my own DLCPack but since Albo's one is working fine I'm just gonna go ahead and basically move the whole DLCPack that I made into his DLCPack and just continue using that. But, if you have an idea what could be wrong with my DLCPack, feel free to tell me! I'd love to know why it's causing this issue in case I/or somebody else who is reading this topic comes across it some time in the future.

 

Other than that, I'd just like to say a huge thanks for all the help! It's nice to see somebody else who is also using DLCPacks for their modded police cars instead of just replacing the base game ones all the time :) At first when I started looking around for this problem, I was 99,9% sure that I'd never come across another user who had this exact same issue but I'm glad I did, haha.

I looked at your files locations screenshot and there were in deed some things I wouldn't do the same. 

I got 833 vehicle files in my custom cars dlcpack's vehicles.rpf (.yft and .ytd), so you can bet I've already encounted my part of problems with some models I've downloaded, so I've learnt that the more simple you do, the better !

 

I don't know the Albo's configuration (although I'm sure it's for the best, as I know his professionalism), but as you told me to do so, here's my advice for another dlcpack you would add in the future :

1. Create your "dlcpackname" in mods/update/x64/dlcpacks

2. Add the lines needed in mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/extratitleupdatedata and dlclist.xml

3. In your "dlcpackname".rpf, here's what you need to find

4. In your data folder, here's what you can have

dlcname_data.png.3aaec1cfa5e07058f31f59909b2ac71b.png as you can see, there's no need for a "common", "data", "levels", "gta5" folder ! You can just put every .meta files you need to play !

 

5. In your x64 folder, here's what you can have :

dlcname_x64.png.8f3b23c8fcb5ce1cc828b306fa003aa7.pngas you can see here, there's no need for a "levels", "gta5", "vehicles" folders ! You can directly put your vehicles.rpf file here and your data folder, which one contains the lang folder.

 

And everything works just fine ! Multiply the folders raise the conflicts risks or the issues you can encounter by using modded car models...
