Hey all - new to the modding thing - long story short I have a new pc - specs are well above minimum, had gta 5, lspdfr and a charger mod police car and the police radio - everything was working just fine. tried to install and explorer vehicle mod - something went wrong didn't work - now the game crashes. i'm so new I don't know where I get the crash log to attach and show you guys.

I see a mini crash report but I can't read it - RCRM file?? I made a complete back up before doing explorer mod and reinstalled that - still crashes? maybe a corrupt file. If someone can tell me what and  how to upload crash log I will. Thanks for your help in advance.

Go where you installed the Explorer and remove it.  See if the game works now.

I deleted the whole thing after failing with the explorer and put my back up copy in its place. I backed up the whole thing on a hard drive before trying to install the explorer. When it didn't work I just deleted everything and put my back up file back in. 

I have a feeling something got corrupted during that process. 

 

i found some type of crash file in the rage plug in files. Something about Rage.ped is invalid. 

 

I was thinking reload lspdfr and see if that fixes it but not sure how to do that either. Lol. I know. Pretty sad.

Open Rage console, type "unloadplugin lspdfr", then load it again.  "Reloadplugins" may be a command in Rage console, but I'm not too sure.

 

Rage.ped invalid means that for whatever scenario was happening, the game couldn't find the model.  Do you have anything new in your game that wasn't there before?

It could be a vehicles.meta file issue... did you edit the vehicles.meta file while installing the explorer?

Tried unloading and loading plugins as you suggested - still lspdfr crashes. No there is nothing new in the game. 

I am thinking I should try uninstalling lspdfr and reinstall in case  some data got corrupted during the back up. But I don't know how to do this?

Seems to crash 20 minutes or so into playing.  Today I deleted everything again, reinstalled my back up file - still crashes. I suspect something got corrupted in files when I backed it up. It worked great before all this. If I cant solve this I guess my only option is to delete everything, reload the game and then reload all the mods?

Thanks for reply - no meta files were changed. I'm using a back up copy I made before all this. These files were all working fine before hand. That's why I think something got corrupt because all the mods being lspdfr, arrest manager, traffic policer, radiant v and a dodge charger were working great - so I made a back up of it. That's what is installed  now.

The only other thing that I can think of to fix your issue would to be to completely reinstall GTA since it is a corrupt file issue. I really wish you didn't have to do this because I know how painstaking it is lol. Sorry man!

There's your problem. I would say that a prisoner transport it crashing your game. What vehicle mods do you have?

Thanks HappyJoker for taking time to help me. 

The only vehicle I added was a Dodge Charger by bxbugs123 and that was a while ago - was working fine for a long time.

Do you have ELS? Uninstall your vehicle mods and ELS and see if that changes anything.

No ELS installed. How do I uninstall that charger?

Did you install it into patchday13 or x64e.rpf?

I got the Charger mod deleted using open iv. Played for just over half an hour with no crashing.  I will update this when I get to play some more tomorrow night.

Thank you very much for your help. Unfortunately it's still crashing so I have began the process of starting over fresh and reinstalling everything.  I really do appreciate the help.
