Hello,

 

I've already made a topic regarding this problem, I never got any answer though. I cannot add most of the vehicle components (downloaded police cars) via Simple Trainer. I can delete them if I choose that option, but I can never place them on the car again. It works fine with spotlights for instance, but pushbars and lightbars cause trouble. I've had this problem for a while and it initially worked fine, one day it just stopped working though and the worst thing is that I don't know what's causing it.

Have you tried another car?  It could be specific to the one you're wanting to use.

I have, every car that I download has this issue (Bxbugs' charger and so on). Every car apart from SHERIFF and SHERIFF2 slots (+ SHERIFF3 slot which is created by the package) for which I'm using these (they come with a package installer and are the only cars I can add every single component on):

I'd try reinstalling your trainer.  I use Simple Trainer as well and never had an issue.

I had the same idea and downloaded latest update but it didn't help, the problem still lasts. I'm now going to compare files included in this package with others, line by line. Because I don't know what else to do..

When you go to the police station, pick out your character, and are in the garage picking out a vehicle, does it let you choose from the components there? or do they still not work?

They are listed there (on/off option) but they don't work. Only some do (spotlights and antennas).

Then that isn't a trainer issue.  Did you add these as replacement cars, or standalone?

Did you have to edit the metas at all for these cars?

Only the flags line in vehicles.meta, that's all that was included in the files.

Did you install ELS and add a VCF for these cars?

I don't currently use any ELS cars. The Sheriff pack has only ELS style lighting, which is just updated carcols.meta (but they are the only ones that work fine when it comes to vehicle components).

I just wanted to make sure.  Some people assume ELS works with all cars.

 

If it works fine with your Sheriff cars, I can only assume it's something with that pack.  To test it, replace your POLICE, or whatever car has a model from that pack.

I've copied the flags line from the sheriff pack and added it into the vehicles.meta file with the problematic cars. They now spawn with every extra vehicle component on them, which is much better. I can delete them but I still can't add them once they have been removed.

That is very strange, but as long you got a workaround. :)

 

The only thing I can think of is that it's with those cars.

I also tried copying the carvariations file and replacing it, but that doesn't do anything, as I assumed. I just cannot find the reason why it doesn't work. The only thing I can remember is that it literally stopped working suddenly. Maybe there is a script I downloaded that's causing it, but that would cause the same error with the sheriff cars as well, wouldn't it? Ahh, I don't know...

Of all the times I've added cars and added plugins/scripts, I've yet to find one that prevents components from being added.  There must be something either in your meta or car.  I'm really not sure.

Yeah, that's true, it doesn't seem very likely. I guess I will just keep searching for differences in the vehicles.meta files.

Even though I wasn't using ELS vehicles at the moment, I still had ELS installed. I've deleted ELS completely and the issue no longer lasts, I can now add vehicle all the components again. Any idea what in ELS in particular may be causing that?
