How to Make Cars Always Clean?

Featured Replies

Please excuse me if this has been addressed before. I tried searching for it, but couldn't really find any answers. Often when backup spawns, the cars show up dirty and the windshields are black because of it, preventing lights from shining through. I was just wondering, is there something I can edit in vehicles.meta (or anywhere else for that matter) so that certain models are never dirty and always clean?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

The only time I've had backup show up with very dirty cars or black windshields is if we're out in Blaine County. Even then, the black windshield is a new one.

I'm no expert with metas, but I can't really see an option specific for this, and am not sure if that's even a thing.  You can disable dirt all together for the model.  To do this, find this line in your meta:

<dirtLevelMax value="0.300000" />

Change the 3 to 0.

Please note: I haven't touched this line before, it may not even be what I think it is.

Actually I was just messing with that... seems to make it better, not perfectly clean but at least now the windshield I tested it out on isn't totally black. I'm going to try it on a few other models to see if it works.

I imagine it will work, but the result will definitely vary between the models.

Yea it seems to mostly fix the issue. Also changed the  <dirtLevelMin value="0.300000" />  value to 0 as well. Not sure if that made a difference but like I said, it's mostly working.

@SoarHawk

Did it work for you completely?

I had the same issue of black windows and lightbars.

After changing the line in the meta the lightbars are ok

but the windows are not.

It worked for me to an extent. The windows are not totally black in some cars, so that's good. But in other cars, they're still tinted.

Ok thanks. I will have to change out models then.

Which models are you having trouble with?

Right now it is the 2015 Tahoe PPV Legacy by thegreathah in the sheriff2 slot.

But I think I had the problem before with other models.

Yup I had trouble with a 2015 Tahoe by thegreathah where the back windshield would block out the lights. However, that's the only model I had issues with using this method.

Well it were all windows for me.

Oh yea you're right, all the windows would be darker, however it only really bothered me because it blocked out the lights in the back.

I just jumped into the game again.

Actually the windows look legit from a distance  but are completely blacked out as they get any nearer. Weird...

Yea.. like I said the lights don't even shine through in the back. The solution should work for the majority of cars, though.
