Pursuit AI randomly guns it forward?

Recommended Posts

Hey! I have a weird issue that is whenever I am in a pursuit, randomly, the feeling driver will stop steering, always ending in a crash, and in alot of cases flying off cliffs, and stuff. I dont know what is triggering it, but it bothers me because i will be lining up for a PIT and then he will stop steering, fly off the road, hit a rock, and go 10 feet in the air. Any help/ suggestions?

I believe that its because of a feature that forces cars over when you change sirens or honk the airhorn.  It can be turned off in the ".ini" file but you wold lose the feature of clearing stopped traffic and what not. Im not 100% on that but i think thats the issue.

Sorry for "necroing" such an old thread. But figure i'd provide you guys and anyone else with a possible fix on this. I had the same issue and realized that it was after I setup ELS that it started happening. The AI would drive perfectly fine chasing them from a distance but when I got up on their tail and changed siren tones they would stop steering and immediately crash. I went in the ELS .ini file and turned the two lines below to "false". This seemed to fix it so far, I will come back and edit it if i'm incorrect. I only tried on a few different callouts.

ElsActiveOnAi = false
ElsTrafCtrlOn = false

I don't notice a difference with traffic control turned off. AI still yield the same way.
