"Solved" prefix/tag or system?

Featured Replies

I often roam through every new thread in the support sections to see what issues people have, and half the time the issue was already solved.  I think it'd be very helpful if the thread starter could mark the thread as solved with a prefix or tag (like the tags in this section), or some sort of system that marks a thread as solved so others know "this was taken care of."  It could even help deter people from posting in that thread with their own issue.

OPs should just edit the topic and write something along the lines of "problem solved" when they are done. That's the best for what we have currently. But yeah I agree maybe if there was some way without having to even open the topic, that would be neat.

They should, and you could make it a rule, but most people come here for one question and then never come back.  So it'd be pointless to make it mandatory.  I just like the idea of the option being there for people who are nice enough to use it.

But like you said, most people only come on here for a question then never come back, so how would they enforce that? Surely the mods have better things to do than to sift through all the posts to find solved problems.

Sorry kinda misread that, just restated what you said.

Oh no, I'm not suggesting mods enforce this or go through every thread looking for those solved.  They have enough work as it is! ( @CouthInk4 would kill me if I was. XD)

I just think the option should be there for people who are kind and want to let others know it's solved.
