Hi all

Just joined LSPDFR, also just got new gaming pc. I want to download gta 5 and start doing the police mods. I have been trying to read as much as possible. I would like to know where you guys recommend I purchase my copy of gta 5 - ie steam?  Also looking for help ie links to performing the mods after I purchase the game - ie newbie links etc. I understand I will need the lspdfr download, hook plug in. Any help is greatly appreciated. 

Steam is the best version in my opinion. Constant updates, and everything! 

As for plugins and callouts, you will need to visit the mods tab and then look for the scripts and and plugins tab associated with it. Once you do that, download what ever you think will give you a good experience. The most recommended mods are by Albo1125, Fiskey111, Parks, Darkmyre, but only for scripts and plugins.

For vehicles, It is most recommended to go with  BxBugs, Windows446, Thehurk, POLICESCO, and so many. But be aware, if they are high-poly ( Textures, items, etc..), it can make your frames drop.

You will need OPEN IV for installing vehicles. And to get better lighting for emergency vehicles and ambient, other light sources, you will need MakeVisualsGreatAgain. 

That will require OPEN IV as well!

Curious as to  why steam is $69 to download and other sites - $39?

Steam is VERY popular. It may be worth that much, but I would always prefer steam over any other version :)

hello :) just wait a week or so and it will go back on sale. it was just $30 a few weeks ago. they always run sales so keep your eyes open. now my copy of GTA V is on disc. i like disc better  because if your internet goes down..no steam games for you :(

When my internet goes down, I still have steam games. Just offline. But Yeah! Just follow the links and you'll be fine.

Thank you - good point about the internet being down. I assume with a purchased disc I can still do all the mods?

yup. i like the disc version better for sure.. steam games have so many folders and its just confusing. i brought up the internet issue because it just hit me last week. my internet was down for like six hours..and that is a long time to do nothing. so having at least some games on disc would be recommended for everybody just in case i mean who knows..one day Steam could go out of business in a horrible pyramid scheme and then we lose all of our games lol.
