Hey guys, I put together my first video tutorial, of which I hope will be many, on how to install and configure ELS (Emergency Lighting System).

First of all, great video. For those who aren't understanding how to work with els, install it, customize it, etc., this is awesome!

 

Second of all, and I hope you don't mind me asking on this thread, but I cant seem to get an answer anywhere else, I have installed everything correctly with regards to ELS, and ELS enabled vehicles. All of my files are up to date, and all installed correctly. I have reviewed the logs for RPH, ELS, and Scripthook, and have found no errors, yet when I load into the game, and attempt to use ELS on my vehicles, it does not work. The ELS UI does appear when pressing CTRL+P, and I can manipulate it as well (change flash patterns / activate takedowns, alley lights, cruise mode, blackout / etc) however the actual lightbar, when on stage 3, does not activate. The only thing that flashes are my tailight wigwags. This is a huge issue that several others have mentioned but so far no one can find a solution too.....

 

Have you encountered this, and might you have any idea's to a solution?

That's a good question... so it seems that ELS is installed and working from the sound of it, and I am going to assume that you installed the vehicle VCF files correctly as well since things like the cruise mode work. I guess 1st question is... does this happen with all ELS vehicles? Have you tried installing other vehicles and you still get the same issue? Just trying to eliminate that this is not related to 1 specific vehicle that might be buggy.

 

If this happens for all vehicles, then I'm being led to believe this has to do with your visual/graphic settings. Talk to me about what visual mods you have installed? VisualV? Make Visuals Great Again? In your Graphics settings, what are your Shader Quality and Post FX options set to? Most of these visual mods will require these to be set to High or above in order to display lights correctly. So if these 2 are not set to High or Very High, try bumping them up and see if this fixes the issue.

I have tried multiple different vehicles from multiple different sources to no avail. I am also working with a fresh install of the game. The only things installed are LSPDFR and ELS to try and eliminate any issues.

 

I currently do not have any visual modifications installed. It did not work with Radiance V installed so I guess I will try Make Visuals Great Again... Post FX was also on ULTRA and i tried it on other setting also, which didn't work....

Okay, I installed Make Visuals Great Again (it looks fkin amazing), however that didnt have any affect on my lightbar working.

Hmmm this is an interesting one... try this... in OpenIV, go to ASI Manager and uninstall ASI Loader and OpenIV.ASI and then click install again to reinstall them. Then restart the PC, then try loading into the game again and see if that works. If it still not working, please post the ASI log and ELS log files, and we'll go from there.

Very informative, sure to help a lot of people.  But (there's always a but)...

 

For some reason, ELS is acting as if it's not even installed.  I can't bring up the menu at all, the sirens (and lights) for the car won't work, and I've worked to the last strand of sanity trying to fix it myself.  Do you have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? You seem to be the only person who cares enough to respond.

Please help if you can!

I will try this now and will let you know what happens.. wish me luck!!

Hey, thank you for checking out the video! I'm assuming all the files are installed correctly and you have AdvancedHookV.dll inside your main GTA V game directory. Can you post your ASI and ELS logs from your GTA V dir (please use the spoiler tags). Let's take a look at those, and we'll go from there.

No problem! Hmmm, everything looks alright there. Can you also post asiloader log please. And you're trying to bring the ELS menu up while you're in the POLICE2 vehicle by holding Left Ctrl Key and pressing P? Also just to ensure, there is no message in red letters on the bottom right of the screen about ELS keys being locked by Sroll Lock key right?

@Butterybagel wondering if you got ELS working?
