So 3 days ago i bought GTAIV from Steam. I only wanted to play lcpdfr  so i downloaded the mod (1.1)

After completing the installation (everything was fine)  i launched GTA IV. The Social Club login window popped up but since i couldn't link my account with this profile i just clicked Play and Nothing happens. No error messages; nothing. When i open the AdvancedHookIn (or something) folder it says:

Log started on: 19:48:14 1-26-2017
------------------------
[INFO - 19:48:14] Failed to get game version!
[INFO - 19:48:14] Shutting down...

 

When i uninstalled LCPDFR the game worked perfectly. I tried everything i saw on previous posts but nothing worked. My GFWL is updated and im using windows 10.

I also ran the game (and installation of lcpdfr) as an Administrator, changed the compatibility to Windows Vista 2 and unchecked Read-Only on my GTA IV folder. I've been trying to fix this for 2 days now.

    The reason the game won't launch is that you have the latest update of gta 4, while most mods only suopport 1.7.0, in order to use most script mods you need to downgrade your game version.
