MULTIPLE COPY PROBLEM

Ok, so this is the second time I've had this problem, and I'm really hoping there is a better fix than the one I found last time. I am still pretty new to PC. I had watched videos on YouTube to figure out exactly how to install everything needed to play LSPDFR. One of the things that the person does is have multiple copies of the main directory. I used this idea as well, in case I ever play online, to ensure my mods don't get used online. I installed the game and then copied it a couple of times. I would keep at least one original version of the game. Also, once I got a few of the mods I liked and I know work I would copy that, so if I added another mod that screwed the game up I wouldn't have to start all over.

This works fine until Steam does an update of the game. It only seems to update some of the copies and not the others. I had tried to copy the GTAV.exe and the launcher, hoping this would fix it and it did not. Today, I ran into this problem again. I sorted the files in the main directory by last date modified, and found what had been changed when the update was done (files that I knew I didn't change myself, such as rage plug in, that were all done on the same day) and copied them to the other copy of the game (this included the GTA5 application, the GTAVLauncher, and installscript.vdf). I also downloaded and replaced the latest version of Ragehook, scripthook V, scripthook.net, and LSPDFR (yes, I added ragehook after to ensure I had the correct version of that and not the base version that is included in LSPDFR download),  When I would right click on the main gta app and look at the properties it seemed to have worked, but the game crashes while loading each time.

The last time I had this issue I simply started over. Deleted all local content out of steam, reinstalled the game, copied it again, and added all of the mods back in. This is very time consuming and irritating, so I am really hoping that someone has a better fix for this. If you need any other information please feel free to let me know, and I would appreciate any help you can offer me. Thanks in Advance :)

Just making sure I understand this correctly, you are having an issue with updating your multiple copies of GTA V?

Steam will only update 1 copy of your GTA V game.  It doesn't know that you have multiple copies of GTA V folders, it simply follows the directory path and updates that main directory.

After every Rockstar update, you will have to reinstall most of your mods.  There is no way around this unless you back things up and revert to a previous version of GTA V.  Then of course you're not able to use any new mods/plugins that will come out.

Pretty much this. The only way to update all of your copies would to switch out the copies with the folder name "Grand Theft Auto V" or whatever the default is I can't remember right now and verifying local files through steam and doing it that way.
