GTA IV wont start

So I reinstalled gta iv and I put scripthook and dsound in the gta root folder and now after the social club sign in it wont start. Could anyone help me with this?

I assume you've updated to the newest patch (1.0.8.0).

 

I know for a fact that scripthook doesn't work with 1.0.8.0. dsound I'm not so sure.

Take these out of your root directory and try launching it, see if that helps.

I did and it worked but how will I get to use the mods

Yeah apparently I had auto update on and it updated to 1.0.8.0

Removing ScriptHook alone worked for me. I pray to the giddy goose that ScriptHook gets patched! My GTA IV videos are my flagship series on YouTube!

LCPDFR and some scripts won't work without it, so I hope it gets patched, too! Even Native Trainer won't work.

 

At this point im reverting to 1.0.7.0. If you want to play with mods, I recommend you do that, too.

Just saw this. I don't know how myself, I'm looking into that now. But I know it's possible.

Maybe this'll help? It's to revert from 1.0.7.0 to 1.0.4.0, but maybe you can apply this for 1.0.8.0 to 1.0.7.0?

So everything is working great. So what I did was I installed the 1.0.7.0 patch and it worked I hope this works for you guys let me know if it does!

What if I use steam to play GTA IV? If I uninstall the newly updated GTA IV and reinstall the previous version, the patch 7 one; will it work?

I've done it and it works now :)
