need help with Vehicle Textures

Featured Replies

THE FILE read me saids .download FCVP71’s 2011 Ford Crown Victoria LAPD. 2. Using OpenIV, open the car location ( x64e.rpf/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf ) 3. Enter OpenIV’s “Edit Mode” and open a file named police.ytd 4. Now replace the corresponding texture file in the police.ytd( cvpi_sign_1.png ) it have 2 files to put in my mods folder cvpi_sign_1.png cvpi_sign_2.png i did the step by step when i got into the file police.ytd the ( cvpi_sign_1.png ) was not in my file cvpi_sign_1.png only thing came to RESEMBLANCE is policenew_sign_1 i put the file in that and i look at the car and the skin was on top on the roof not on the entire car plz help me i really want your skin one more thing the the Vehicle Textures have only 2 files in it. my police.ytd files have 6 in it for example policenew_sign_1 policenew_sign_2 policenew_sign_3 policenew_sign_4 policenew_sign_5 policenew_sign_6 .only thing is RESEMBLANCE is >>>> _sign_1  i change the name from policenew_sign_1 to cvpi_sign_1 + delete 3.4.5.6. files add the 2 files and still the same default car what should i do anyone know ??

You need to utilize the Replace function within OpenIV (once you open the YTD file).  Here's what you should do:

1. Open the YTD file

2. Find xxxxx_sign_1 texture

3. Hit Replace

4. Browse to new texture

5. Click ok and save

If the original file had 6 textures and the new texture pack comes with only 2, then replace the first 2 and delete the remaining 4.

deleteing something

Are you replacing like I highlighted and not adding?  If so, what car do you have installed as Police and what texture pack are you trying to install?

Make sure the files have the same name. Sometimes (strictly for example) a pack will say "chargerskin" on the files while the actual skin names are "chr2". You can't replace something with something of a different name.

I don't understand the point of signatures on this site. What the fuck is the point?

yes sir it had the same name  policenew_sign_ 1   policenew_sign_ 2   policenew_sign_ 3   policenew_sign_ 4   policenew_sign_ 5   policenew_sign_ 6    .. .only thing is RESEMBLANCE is >>>> _sign_1 <<< i change the name from policenew_sign_1 to cvpi_sign_1 + delete 3.4.5.6. files add the 2 files and still the same default car what should i do

it look like im going to delete my gta v and do it over without useing   LSPD Pack Installer 1.0.0.oiv

The names don't need to match.  In OpenIV, just hit replace and it'll overwrite the texture while keeping the original texture name.

I'm going to guess that the you used the Mods folder when installing this pack?  If so, just delete the mods folder and it'll remove your carpack and anything else you've added to Mods folder.  There is practically never a need to delete and reinstall GTA V.  All of the mods are basic add-ons.

Just read the tutorial provided by Scarlet or you'll have issues again.
