Questions around installing cars via OIV!

Featured Replies

Hello all, I hope I am posting in the right forum.

Long story short, every single car I downloaded from this site the installation read me notes never correlate with what I have, what I mean is lets say for example the creator said 'place sheriff2.ytf, sheriff2.ytd in GTA V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday9ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\', when I go there I never see the sheriff files in there, and even when I just drop the sheriff files anyways they dont show up in the game.

I am almost sure its something I am doing wrong, because 11 out of 11 cars I downloaded and the path they told me to go to install them in is never there, all of these people cant be wrong, what am I doing wrong? What am I missing? I go to the path they tell me to but I never find the same sheriff or police files there to replace them..

Thanks in advance.

Here is a real example for a car I am trying to install, when I go to the location it says in the readme I cant find the sheriff files there, this goes to almost all the cars I downloaded, I can never find the location the readme files says.

Hey there!  Some vehicles require you to replace a certain patchday. My modded Sheriff cruiser is in patchday3, and works fine.

Hey thanks for the answer, any more info on what you mean by replacing a certain patchday? If you can point me to something here I'd appreciate. It's just crazy and frustrating how every time I follow the ReadMe I can never find the file in the path they mention...

In OpenIV, go to mods-->update-->X64-->DLCPACKS-->patchday3ng-->dlc.rpf-->X64-->levels-->GTA 5-->vehicles.rpf (Click on "edit mode" once you're in vehicles.rpf)

Now drop in your new Sheriff files.  Click "Edit mode" again to turn it off.

It should be replaced. :)

Go back into patchday3, and find your Sheriff file.  Double click on the sheriff file that is a "fragment object".  This will open a viewer of the vehicle.  Do you see your modded vehicle, or the default?

That one is my fault.  I'm still on an older version of GTA, and when I read in his initial post about mod authors saying "patchday9", I figured he had installed it right.  Completely slipped my mind there are 11 patchdays now.

Im no expert but maby you can try this.

In OpenIV, goto tools and then asi manager and make sure you have the first 2 installed, my guess is you dont have the openIV.asi installed.

Hope it helps.

Respect!

Only in that a new patchday is added.  All other patchday paths remain the same.

Not every update, only when new vehicle content is added. Currently there are 12 patchday folders, but you can still use 11. Basically the way that it works is that the latest patch overrides all others.

Okay I got it now, so what you're saying all police car files are going to be in Patchday 11?

he needs both asi loader and open iv, and this was my wonder

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE MODS..THEY'RE CALLED READMEs   AKA read me for a reason

lspdfr plugin or GTA V crashed? find your Rage log in your gta folder, usually found after ragepluginhook.exe and open it, hit Ctrl a, open pastebin.com, select new paste, hit Ctrl v, get the link after you pasted it and supply that with your issue in the specific mod topic, it helps the developer diagnose the problem you may have.
