RPH Crash

Featured Replies

When loading RPH I get an error that says: Game memory error. Please reboot and restart the game. Well I have, many times. It only started after I updated GTAV and the files in Open IV. I just over righted the new files in Open IV with the ones I had for the old update, which were the dlclist, gameconfig, handling.meta, vehiclelayouts.meta, vehicles.meta, and visualsettings.dat. So I dont know if me over righting them is the problem, I hope it isn't because I have like 20 added vehicles in the vehicles.meta that I refuse to delete and copy back into the meta that will take like 2 hours. If anyone knows the problem please let me know, thanks.

I'm sorry to say, but that's your problem right there in the bold.  You're trying to use old game data with the new version.

I have over 100 standalone cars, and a crap ton of meta and carvars.  For the meta and carvars, I keep extras on my desktop so I always have them in the event something happens.  As per the car files themselves, I just leave them in OpenIV (mpchristmas2).  It would take up too much room to have all of them on my computer somewhere.

As long as you utilized your mods folder, you can reverse the mistake.  Go into the vanilla folders and start transferring that to the mods folder.  You can just drag and drop the files from the vanilla game to your desktop and then past them in the correct spot in the mods folder.

Damn thats what I was hoping it wouldn't be. Do you know which of the files/metas I listed could be the one(s) causing the error? I dont want to replace files i dont have to. For example I think the old visualsettings.dat is fine with the new update, even though some people are having lighting issues and Radiance V needs to be updated, which is what my visualsetting.dat is right now.

I know for a fact gameconfigs from previous versions will not work with new versions, so I'd start by replacing it.  For everything else, I unfortunately do not know.  I do, however, think dlclist should be fine.  I've not installed new dlcs, so I have no clue how exactly those react.  I advise replacing the gameconfig, and if you still get the error, start looking for the culprit one by one.

You're welcome.

Well I just went through the the entire gameconfig and replaced every value with yours which took like an hour, edited the new dlclist with the dlc i have installed, copied over all my vehicles from the vehicle.meta into the new one, same with the handling, and have the new vehiclelayout in, and im still getting the  Game memory error. Please reboot and restart the game  error. So I have no clue whats wrong. Only other thing I have changed is the visualsettings.dat file with thegreathah's new "bright lights" mod, so that shouldn't be the problem. I really dont know whats wrong. Unless you or anyone else has a clue ill probably just wait a few months when i get my new PC and completely redo everything. Thanks for trying to help though.
