The latest updated version of RAGE Plugin Hook, required to play LSPDFR, can be found inside the LSPDFR download. It is not currently available on the RAGE Plugin Hook website.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Featured Replies

I'd like to preface this post by making clear that I am NOT (yet) asking for help resolving the problem I'm about to detail, as there are still more steps I can try to resolve this issue myself. I'm creating this thread simply to see if anybody else ever has this issue.

Sometimes, and randomly from what I can tell, LSPDFR crashes mid load. Meaning I don't even boot into the game. Other times it loads like it's supposed to and I can play flawlessly until I shut it down. I only download add-ons with numerous high ratings and reviews, and from big community members (Albo1125 for example), so I'm hoping that eliminates a faulty plugin/car/etc. It's also worth noting that GTA V as a standalone game itself boots and works fine 100% of the time (with Script Hook V).

So does anyone else suffer from this torment? Below are the three steps I'm going to try this evening to attempt to remedy my situation, in case anyone else does have this issue and wants a possibly new approach.

  1. Reverting entire GTA V folder back to vanilla (meaning it's original, first downloaded state).
  2. Install both the manual and automatic version of LSPDFR (if the first one doesn't work).
  3. Disable the auto-loading plugins (meaning I have to launch LSPDFR once inside the game via the command prompt).

I would also like to note that I'm not someone who doesn't know how to navigate this mod and its workings. I have, successfully, replaced all of my active police cars with their real life counterparts (or otherwise real units) as well as added in callouts and other additions. I also test my mods one by one by launching the game after each individual installation, testing for crashes, incompatibilities, etc.

Excessive spacing.

First of all, you are describing GTA V, not LSPDFR crashing. If LSPDFR crashes, just the mod crashes, not the whole game (usually). Second, mods are and always will be unstable, and will always cause games to crash at random points.

I don't understand the point of signatures on this site. What the fuck is the point?

How is it GTA V itself crashing? If I launch GTA V from Steam or the common/GTA V folder using the Launcher.exe, it starts and allows play every time. If I launch LSPDFR from the shortcut desktop icon or from the RPH.exe in the common/GTA V folder, here recently anyway, that's when it crashes (on a GTA V character's loading screen). Sounds more like a RPH issue to me.

Yeah, it's a Rage issue, but GTA V, not LSPDFR, is crashing.

Well, disabling the automatic loading of LSPDFR per RPH's settings seem to let it start the game like it should, but I still seem to have a rogue mod somewhere. Time to start fresh and do the process of elimination.

So a small update for anyone who may be watching this thread because you're having the same issue; the combination of updating the Rockstar Games Social Club and completely disabling my antivirus (Windows Defender in my case) seems to have fixed whatever initial issue I was having. I've yet to introduce mods back into LSPDFR, but I'll be sure to update again when I do so.
