Mods and Not getting banned

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Wanted to double check, I installed one of BxBug's models which had a package installer that installed it for me. I don't have a mods folder set up but might in the future. I do have the game backed up so its not a big deal if I mess up. I wanted to make sure that I can still play GTA online but just remove OpenIV.asi before I go online and I won't be banned. Just want to double check!

The mods must be in a mods folder for the OpenIV function to work. So if you replaced let's say, stanier.yft in the original game files. Not in a mods folder. The game would try to load in that model. I have no idea if it will say incompatible game assets if you tried that, it would probably put you in an empty lobby if anything. The only mods you should never have in your game folder when going into Online are game hooks. That being scripthook or any other script loaders such as that. RageHook isn't an issue unless you do have it running. Scripthook.dll and it's dependencies MUST be removed, though. That's almost a surefire way of getting flagged and or banned.
